hmm364 Posted December 26, 2021 #1 Share Posted December 26, 2021 Hello my wife and I are leaving on an Alaska cruise in mid Aug 2022 . We are staying at the Blue Horizon hotel and arriving 3 days before our departure and will need to have a covid test . Does anyone know of a lab or testing facility near the port at Canada Place or the Blue Horizon hotel ? Thank you .
CruiserBruce Posted December 26, 2021 #2 Share Posted December 26, 2021 That is a long way off, and cruising has not resumed out of Vancouver at this time. Testing might not even be required. Maybe watch as cruising resumes in late April, and see what happens. The cruise lines could even set up some sort of testing at the pier...who knows? I would monitor the West Coast Departures board, here: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/315-west-coast-departures/ and perhaps the Alaska board, here: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/33-alaska/
Rare Milhouse Posted December 27, 2021 #3 Share Posted December 27, 2021 FWIW, here's a list of clinics off the BC CDC site that do testing for a fee for travel: http://www.bccdc.ca/health-info/diseases-conditions/covid-19/testing/where-to-get-a-covid-19-test-in-bc I have no experience with any of them for travel testing so don't know how good they are. Covid Tests Vancouver seems to be located out of Canada Place which may be convenient for the OP.

If yes, you can purchase the BinaxNow test through optum store or emed and do it in your hotel room. All you need is a cell phone to connect. We did this test when we returned from Spain in December and just did it yesterday for our cruise departing tomorrow. You get the results in 15 minutes.
