ynp1 Posted December 28, 2021 #1 Share Posted December 28, 2021 Hello I was wondering if would be cutting it too close for a 12:40 P.M. flight out of IAH after the cruise.

Galveston has a lot of fog at certain times of the year which will impact ship schedules. Yesterday, Dec 31, 2021, the Carnival Vista did not dock and discharge guests until nearly 3 pm. This would seriously destroy any flight plans for returning home on the day your ship returns. Edited January 1, 2022 by thinfool

csm5986142 Posted February 3, 2022 #4 Share Posted February 3, 2022 I just returned home Monday on a flight out of IAH that left at 12:30. We did fine, even had a little time to get a snack before out flight. We got off the ship early/quickly, but then sat on the Carnival shuttle for 45 minutes waiting for people (never doing that again). Anyway, I didn't realize what a tough port Galveston is for transportation. One serious accident can block traffic for hours. On our way from the ship back to IAH there was a serious accident in the opposite direction. Traffic was backed up for miles. Uber drivers couldn't get down to the ship to pick people up for the airport, shuttles/Ubers from the airports couldn't get to the ship. I definitely prefer ports like Ft Lauderdale (it's like 4 miles from the airport).
