What all goes into the price of a cruise. On the carnival website, the price of the cruise I might book is $529.00. What other prices are added into that number. Like with taxes and any other feas. Like how much more will that price go up. Not including like excersions, flight or drinks and anything like that.

They will add Federal taxes/Fees to that amount. I'm not sure if the amount varies by length of cruise or if it is a set amount for all cruises. On our 7-day Western Caribbean cruise, it was about $55 per person.

We recently booked for $599 a person (port charges WERE included.) After all additional taxes and fees, it rose to $645 a person.

I went ahead an mentioned these, because they can add up quickly.

 

You also need to consider:

Tips: $10 per day - automatically added to your Sail and Sign account

Parking: $10 - $12 per day (depending on the port if you drive to the ship)

Transportation to and from airport (if you are flying)

Alcohol: Rounding about $5.00 a drink

Soda: Rounding you can buy soda tickets 4 for $6.20ish

Tips for room service: $1 to 2 per use (depending on the amount of food)

Tips for luggage porter at embarkation: $1 per bag

 

At your descretion: (if you want it)

Embarkation picture $20.00 Most 8 x 10 are $20.00

Spa, nails, hair salon are all extra

Babysitting for children after 10pm is $6 an hour for the first child / $4 per child for other children

Excursions run anywhere from $25 per person to $150 per person depending on the activity.

 

 

While in port, you will need money for the taxi and any entertainment you participate in while on shore.

No, not at all. As fdwt said, Port Charges ARE included in the price listed on the website. It shouldn't be more than $50 to $60 per person. A quick call to Carnival (1-888-CARNIVAL) would tell you for sure.

Alright thanks, Yeah i knew about the $10 a day tip already and yes the Alcohol can add up over the week. This will be my third cruise and the last 2 my parents booked everything and this one im trying to find the best price.

Some web sites do not include the port charges but Carnival does. Its jsut the Governement taxes taht are not. On our 6 day cruise that tax was 58 bucks pp

soda coupons are for use on CArnival. you must buy them ahead of time and theyw ill be given to you at dinner the first night.

WIth the coupons you get 4 cans of soda-- the price is including a gratuity. I still see the cheaper price for the soda coupons on the web site... soda did go up on the ships

I saw the bar coupons... $19.50 for 4 coupons... but that is not for soda right, way to expensive. I cant seem to find any soda ones. What am I doing wrong?

Specialty items on the web site--$6.80 for 4 soft drink tickets. My question is how do they handle the gratuities on the drink tickets?

Perhaps her parents are going with her, or some that is 25 and she is just going the "leg work". Good point to make though Cotton as some folks don't realize the "age thing".

Don't forget to get insurance for everyone.

Those prices can vary depending on age & if you just need medical or you want cancellation insurance as well. :)

I dont know how old you have to be to cruise along but I will be 23 in march ha so I dont know. Yeah I will still be going with my parents and my GF, im just trying to plan everything for them.
