No idea what you are saying Argentina not Australia as no one said either???? I’ve seen them as well, back when I was on Anthem of the Seas 12/5 sailing, and High Voltage! (at least the guitarist) are from Argentina, and they are most certainly NOT an AC/DC cover band…at least not the music I heard in The Music Hall. The reference to Australia - that’s where AC/DC originated. Here’s another recent Live thread talking about them with a picture… https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2821482-anthem-nye-live/?do=findComment&comment=62385682 😎

I don’t want to assert that the other poster was throwing shade, but maybe, just maybe? OK, I saw them on the 12/12 cruise. There is no way they are a tribute band - AC/DC or otherwise. Kudos to Matt . . . and thanks for correcting me about 12/12 being their first Anthem run. 1

There is a cover band called High Voltage, I wonder if they have ever played on Anthem. We have seen a bunch of different ones, including two different Journey ones, so I wouldn't doubt there could have been an AC/DC one at some point. Will have to keep looking. Sunshine3601 Posted January 10, 2022 #56 Share Posted January 10, 2022 Hi piper. I am also on this sailing and cannot believe how empty it is. When we first boarded they said they were expecting just under 2000 passengers. I asked someone at next cruise desk and he said he didnt have a confirmed number yet but thought it was around 900 passengers. That's crazy for a ship this size but everything is so empty. I'll ask tomorrow at guest services or loyalty desk. Back to the casino, doing oksy so far🤩 8

PiperHolliday Posted January 10, 2022 Author #60 Share Posted January 10, 2022 We went to the Bionic Bar before dinner and tried to create some of our own cocktails. That was a bit of fun but fizzled out after about 30 minutes since things were running out or missing. The selection of ingredients was limited to begin with and would probably skip it if we didn't have a drink package. We had dinner in Silk for My Time. Nobody was seated near us at all. Our waiter, assistant waiter and the second head waiter were extremely attentive and glad to have us there. My husband loves Indian food, so they will be bringing us a couple of Indian dishes every night we go to the MDR. Unfortunately, the only photo I took was of my first cocktail. I'll try to be better about that! The food is what you would expect from a typical cruise ship dining room. It was not bad at all! But I don't think I am a good person to judge the food, as we are huge foodies, I'm an avid home cook, we live in the center of an incredible food city, and frequent some of the best rated restaurants in the world. So unless something is VERY good or very bad, I probably won't really comment on the taste. Admittedly, I also love deep fried junk food so I may rave about those items 😁 My cocktail was the Caribbean Mule and that was pretty tasty. The next three nights, we will be doing specialty dining. First Wonderland, followed by Jamie's and then Chops.
PiperHolliday Posted January 10, 2022 Author #61 Share Posted January 10, 2022 Our room steward has been great so far! He's friendly and made sure we have everything we need. We requested an extra mattress topper and I'm glad we did! We also requested extra pillows and he did not mess around with that request - he sure did get us some pillows! He also suggested extra towels since I have very long hair and I thought that was great. He said the room next to us was supposed to be occupied as of this morning. But they didn't make it. I feel bad for them but at the same time, it means a bit less worry about noise for us. You can hear the TVs through the walls.

I went to guest services around 10 pm and there were several people inline doing exactly that. I heard one guy say all they had left for upgrades was JS, I think he said deck 11 or 12. We have an ov hump balcony and we like the location and large balcony so I walked away and didnt ask for ourselves after hearing that. Hope to sleep like a baby tonight. Good night🤩
PiperHolliday Posted January 10, 2022 Author #63 Share Posted January 10, 2022 Our friend has a cabin at the very front of the ship and he said it's really rocking and rolling up there. We can't feel any of it from our cabin. But I can hear toilets flushing left and right, up and down. Time to dig out the ear plugs.

I’ll be in 10162 which is a large balcony. Once on the Anthem I was in a JS & also heard that. Have to go back through my records to see that cabin location. The line goes all the way around the terminal building. There's only one line, no signage and can't find anyone that works here. It seems the issue is people showed up when they felt like it, even though RCCL told us not to arrive until one hour past our assigned check in times. I talked to people at the front that have been here since 10am. 😑 The line is slowly moving now. ***** royal doing a good job getting people out of the rain and cold. Hey S & T I see you .... We always try to be at or aft of the aft elevator banks on Anthem as we find you feel a lot of motion if you are forward of those elevators, even in calm seas.

PiperHolliday Posted January 10, 2022 Author #72 Share Posted January 10, 2022 We had a nice luxurious wake up to a loud announcement trying to sell us overpriced crap. 😕 Followed by another shortly after. Not cool. When we got to our room late last night, our entertainment schedule was on the bed! We need to figure out where to have lunch now. Windjammer is requiring reservations for all meals so that's not really a quick, flexible option anymore. Thankfully there's other quick service options onboard. Unfortunately, it seems all breakfast reservations for Windjammer are booked up for the whole cruise.

It is definitely choppy but I don't mind. I am currently sitting in 270 and doing some work online. Love the view from here. @PiperHolliday I am getting conflicting passenger counts. I have heard numbers from 900 to 1600 (per next cruise desk and loyalty ambassador). What have you heard? Whatever it is, it is definitely a lot less than other cruise I have done on Anthem. I'm loving it!
