Cruise cancelled, what happens to flights?

NCL cancelled our 1/14 - 1/19 trip on the Getaway.  We had booked our flights through them, and I assumed that NCL would cancel the flights as well.

But today I got an email from American Airlines for the flight saying they might give travel credit for flexible travel plans.

This left me with several questions: is NCL going to cancel our flights through them? Are we getting a refund on those flights?  Can I try to get travel credit from AA since I no longer need the flight?

Has anyone had a similar experience, maybe from the previous round of cancellations?

I was supposed to be on the very first cancelled cruise of March 2020 with NCL booked flights. We had already checked in to our flights (American), and paid for seat upgrades. After the cancellation notice came out, NCL cancelled both flights without any interaction on my part. I did have to file a refund request with AA for my paid seat upgrades, though.
