Rare Waynetor Posted March 11, 2022 Author #377 Share Posted March 11, 2022 Good day in St. Thomas today except for a few quick showers. It felt like we were a mother ship with a small child on both sides. We were joined behind Azamara Quest, and in front of its sister ship Oceania Insignia that have passenger capacity at just over 20% of the Caribbean P. 3 couples are getting married on the ship this week. We witnessed one on Tuesday. Based on their apparent age, I would hazard it was not the first for either person. For this week there are 527 Platinum captain circle members and 343 elite members. The top 3 have 1,338, 1,916 and 2,038 nights.

Never had lobster on Princess but from other lines they tend to be pretty small. Might order 2 but I don't want to deprive anyone on the second seating. Maybe 2 shrimp cocktails instead. dance4fun Posted March 11, 2022 #381 Share Posted March 11, 2022 (edited) For those curious about wave heights, some US NOAA buoys report wave heights, along with other data, via the US Coast Guard app. Seems more likely to have wave data near the mainland or possessions. But give it a try. Screenshot from a Puerto Rico buoy shows wave heights. Other buoys have more limited data. Lots of maintenance needs to be done. Many issues need to be addressed, according to the crew. Definitely needs engine work too.

There are 4 clamshells on what I think was 17 and some very comfortable tables and sofas. Also loungers on 16 . I'm not aware of seating areas like that on any other Princess ships. Big Tiger Fan Posted March 11, 2022 #388 Share Posted March 11, 2022 Explorers Lounge had a number of folks dancing to the live music when we were on her in January. Very comfortable seating there also. It was our nightly after dinner spot after karaoke was over.

Leaving Florida heading to the west coast for . There's nothing online. I talked to a few different crew members last month. I was told that the dry dock (2 weeks) was going to entail both engine work and interior work (i.e. carpeting), as well. Staff was going to take on a lot of work themselves, in addition to keeping everyone fed while on board.
tngman Posted March 12, 2022 #390 Share Posted March 12, 2022 In response to Norwegian Cruiser 73’s comment about smoking in the casino - I saw the same sign but there is smoking allowed on the starboard side of the casino. I had to move an ashtray from a video poker machine I played and there were people smoking around me. I wish Princess would either ban smoking in the casino or follow NCL’s idea of having an enclosed area just for smokers. I was on the Joy last month and it was great to not have to smell the stench of cigarette smoke.

Maybe due to the late schedule in Grand Turk so not as many folks in the casino in general.

Modern day jukebox! We had the whole place to ourselves so we picked a lineup of songs we like and danced for probably a half hour.
