We pulled in to the garage at 11:30, and paid for the week by credit card. Within an hour DW’s card was hit with a $933 bogus charge from a big box store in Rockledge (south Cocoa). The breviary county sheriff is sending a deputy over to investigate.

You might want to post this on the roll call thread

Was there any other place you used your card recently that someone could have seen your card?

That's a really fast turnaround to make a transaction especially since they wouldn't have gotten your card's CVV.

Nope. DW only uses that card for cruise-related expenses. BTW you don’t necessarily need a CVV for an online transaction.

Entering a CVV has been required by the credit cards since 2018.

Yes, but you can run a card without the CVV.  Sometimes the customer says it's illegible.   I find this to be especially true with mens' cards that get a lot of wear in their wallets or money clips.  We've had both hand keyed phone and internet sales go through without the CVV - our POS machine just asks the reason why it can't be entered.

Terminal pier 1 for RCL did not require CVV when we parked there in late Dec 2021 Harmony of the Seas.  Just inserted credit card in and once it got approved the receipt slip spitted out.

Very concern about this info

Not always. I have had some purchases asking for the CVV and other times NOT.  So the CVV is not always required, and I have NEVER been asked when used in a machine.

Has whomever is in charge of the terminal 1 garage been made aware?

Once a report is filed with the Sheriff, they will find out through them when they investigate.

But, that is very fast to have a charge made.  Skimmers have to be removed and the data downloaded.  And a lot of the time, the data is sold which doesn't happen in an hour.   If it was a skimmer, the OP would not be the only "victim".
