SUN LINE (Greek) Any memories?

Stella Oceanis, my 1st cruise in 1984. And I was hooked!  Was terrific in every way, service, cuisine, entertainment, lectures.  Also sailed on Stella Solaris, also excellent.  Sadly, they didn't keep up with cruise trends, and eventually went out of business.

I never sailed on their ships, but I remember that their brochures were very attractive and enticing.  Stella Solaris was on my list of "to sail", but, didn't happen.

Sun Line was very popular in it’s day.  Sun Line was known for it’s Greek crew and high quality.  It was created by a gentleman who was associated with Boris Vasilov and Sitmar Line…as I recall.

I sailed on the Stella Solaris in August 1981 with my mom (I was 17).  I had the time of my life, leaving from Athens, hitting Egypt, Israel, Turkey, Mykonos, Santorini, and Rhodes.  Was just a great initiation to cruising and met some Canadian girls who dressed me up as "American Champagne" -- a can of Coke -- for the costume contest, which I won.

I don't have many souvenirs for Sun Line. I do have a nice scarf showing the funnel and 3 ship names on it though.

Sailed on Stella Maris, their tiny, 3,000-ton ship in 1979.  My very first cruise.  First time I had a martini (hated it) and octopus.  We were traveling as a youth group (with adult escorts).  Sort of took over the ship, in a good way I think.  There were only about 100 passengers and we made up 40%.  We visited Tunis, Sarajevo, and a few other spots I’ve now forgotten. I was hooked on cruising.
