slidergirl Posted March 26, 2022 #1 Share Posted March 26, 2022 I've got a bunch of experience renting cars in Europe, including in Rome. At the time, the price I got was pretty darn good for a one-way to Florence. Looking for a rental from Bologna to Florence this time. Yes, it's expensive this time. But I was trying to see if anyone used some company other than Europcar, AutoEurope, and the "name brands" we know in the US. Looking for an econo-box, like a Fiat 500, but not a Panda (I have my standards). Manual is fine, since I drove manual from 2001-2019. Just curious.
bennybear Posted March 27, 2022 #2 Share Posted March 27, 2022 We’ve had the best luck with autoeurope, usually Europcar but at times Hertz. What seems to have changed is the drop fees. You used to be able to pickup and drop off anywhere in the country for free but that seemed to change a few years ago. best of luck!

I'm the same - autoeurope and Hertz. I have always done point to point over there. But, wow, the prices went way up. I'm going to see about changing some things to do trains to try to lesson the days I need the wheels. Was hoping for something new.
