That’s a looooong time to be at sea.  I hope you are comfortable with all that time at sea.

Done ~16 nts on a container ship.  2 tops but no getting off (2nd as very short).  Last was a 12 (or 11) nt.  Left, arrived, no stops.  So this one will be 9 days longer than the container.  Fresh food is going to be sparse....  As t least internet is free and it's open bar.....

Bring along some special groceries and you’ll have it made.

When I did 42 nights on a cargo ship (no stops between Panama and Australia), I was amazed at all the fresh food.  They must have had special storage for fruits, vegetables, milk, eggs, and meats; perhaps their own ongoing yogurt culture, etc.

No internet in those days, and no open bar, though!

While most cruise ships store provisions every week or two weeks, there is still plenty of space for additional.  It will be up to the provisions staff to keep picking through the produce daily to remove any even starting to go, as this will keep the rest fresh.  Careful monitoring of CO2 and methane in the walk in boxes and use of ozone generators can keep produce fresher longer.

Most ships will store provisions once a month at the earliest, so 42 days is nothing special.  As noted above, it is incumbent on the galley staff to pick through produce daily.  There are typically 3-4 walk-in boxes on freighters.  Meat and fish freezer boxes, a vegetable cooler, and possibly a dairy cooler.  Lots of stuff like milk will be frozen upon loading, and defrosted as needed.
