How are those of you getting approved for shareholder OBC applying?

No different than I have in the past, I was denied back in December when everybody else seemed to be getting denied because of "discounts". Last month I submitted for my cruise in May after seeing others report success and I received confirmation a few days later of approval. The perk being back will certainly entice me to book more cruises.

I was unable to fax (my fault but I thought it was Carnival) so I emailed everything. I emailed on March 30th for my April 17th cruise. I received a response yesterday and the onboard credit was applied to my account. I also faxed a few days ago because my cruise is on Easter Sunday.

We submitted for two additional sailings (bookings with some OBC, drinks in the casino) on 4/2. Just last night (4/15) received confirmation that the credit has been applied - and I was able to confirm that just now -- seeing the OBC for one short sailing change from $200 to $250.

Have not been denied - yet...

Wife and I are cruising in October.  Sent the request via email on April 5 and received the standard "we are looking into this" response in a few hours.  On Sunday, yes Easter Sunday, in the early am, I received confirmation of my OBC request ($100 for a seven day cruise).  Twelve days is slightly longer than previous requests but not bad.  Used a TA for this cruise.

Bring a copy of your brokerage acct statement to customer service on the ship?  I would think that face-to-face they would be unlikely to deny the OBC.

I did that for one of the cruises I was denied for and they just said they would have to check with customer service and get back with me. I got a message later saying I was denied.

Employees, travel agents cruising at travel agent rates, interline rates, tour conductors or anyone cruising on a reduced-rate or complimentary basis are excluded from this offer. This benefit is not transferable, cannot be exchanged for cash and, cannot be used for casino credits/charges and gratuities charged to your onboard account. Only one onboard credit per shareholder-occupied stateroom

The above is clipped from the shareholder benefit section of the Carnival Corporation website. You may want to check the the code being used for your booking.

We board on 4/23, have sent email twice with auto-replies.  If I don't get notification, I will take hard copy.  Thank you for the tip!

I'm not sure if it's worked for anyone before, but I'd imagine that Guest Services will not be able to help with shareholder OBC once you board the ship. There's shipboard things, then there's shoreside things... (but, GOOD LUCK!)

Back when they did this: I had a casino credit due to me owing to a large prior loss (which was supposedly taken care of ahead of time). Turns out someone shoreside dropped the ball. The casino onboard had to wait to hear back from the powers that be.

I think they just do not like you. 😢 I do not understand why, but what other explanation is there? 🤦‍♂️

Last 4 cruises, 2 of them deeply discounted, I received shareholders credit for each of them.  I sent an email to shareholders@carnival.com stating the following:

Hi!

Please find attached my current brokerage statement.  Please issue shareholder credit to the following:

Legal name: MY NAME
Booking number: MY BOOKING NUMBER
Ship: MY SHIP
Sailing date: THE EMBARKATION DATE

. . . .

---

Thanks @ninjacat123 for this easy template!  I previously had used an older template I had made up but this is much simpler.  I used it last night and it was very successful:

  • I emailed our stockholder info to shareholders@carnival.com last night 4/20 at 7:30pm PT for our May Carnival cruise [greatly discounted VIFP Offer] -- and received the approval email this morning 4/21 at 4:40am PT.
    (Turnaround in 9 hours 10 minutes😃 )

Thank you to this group!!  I followed Ninjacats advice and did exactly as she said.  I sent the email at 4:48pm and received word at 7:06pm  that the credit has been approved!! Thank you

So I'm happy everyone is successful using my template but I haven't heard back since my submission on April 6.  C'mon Guestservices! 😜

I emailed mine in at around 9pm on Wednesday.  I received the automated reply immediately.  When I got up in the morning I had another email that had been sent at 3am saying my OBC was applied to my July sailing.

. . . . So, obviously and unfortunately for those of you still waiting, Carnival Guest Admin First-In-First-Out processing of requests is NOT a thing. ☹️

I have applied twice for a cruise I have June 2022 and have been denied both times.  It is a casino deal, so be aware that they are not approving all if it is a casino deal.  It is the luck of the draw.
