Debbers Posted April 15, 2022 #1 Share Posted April 15, 2022 First, we want to cancel a couple of excursions we have already booked and paid for; is there a way to do that ourselves, or should we contact O or our TA? Second, we had purchased 4 excursions for St Petersburg. Those purchases still show on our list. Again, O or TA? Thank you! Debra
Rare 1985rz1 Posted April 15, 2022 #2 Share Posted April 15, 2022 Assuming they are all ship excursions and not private tours, I'd let your TA take care of both items.

That depends on who made the purchase and how many folks are in the mix. We do our excursions direct with O (using the Web Cart or with a call to our trusted O Rep). We spare our TA the trouble and avoid having stuff “lost in translation.” That said: When ports (and their excursions) are cancelled by O, they will refund the value of the purchased tour at the exact price you actually paid for it or, if an O Life tour, it will be reassigned to the next most expensive O Life eligible tour on your list and you’d be refunded whatever you paid for that one. BTW, if you have not yet done “final pay,” O may apply your “refund” to that balance due. In any case: If you want to cancel, O needs to be contacted directly since it’s not doable over the O web. Most importantly: whenever you buy O tours, ask O or your TA for a copy of the “Pre-purchased excursions” PDF (because it shows all the math related to the tour costs, discounts etc. and, with that info, you can figure out if all is kosher). You probably meant to quote @Debbers and not me to provide him/her with this useful information since he/she had the questions. No. Actually, I was commenting on your post regarding the issue of using your TA vs DIY when it comes to booking/modifying/canceling O’s excursions. Not all TAs understand the intricacies of O Life, YWYW, et al. in double checking the booking system’s calculations.
Rare pinotlover Posted April 16, 2022 #6 Share Posted April 16, 2022 (edited) Not a one size fits all answer for us. We rarely take the OLife shore excursion option. We may however book one or two ship tours individually and do it DIY. Typically they are OS and/or OE tours. On those few cruises where the shore excursions package is chosen, we normally chose all our tours and have our highly competent TA book them for us. Our TA actually prefers it that way. Sometimes due to particular glitches in the system, or something a client does by mistake, causes her more time in trying to correct the mess with Oceania than just doing it herself the first time.
