NCL European COVID Testing Requirements

We are experienced cruisers who are due to embark on the Norwegian Escape ship from Rome (Civitavecchia) on the 11th May 2022. We have run into massive problems trying to implement the correct COVID Lateral Flow Test procedures in accordance with NCL rules. NCL have partnered with an American based specialist testing company, Inspired Diagnostics, for home based ‘proctored’ testing. But they do not provide testing kits outside the USA. However they have advised us that we can purchase our own testing kit (we live in the U.K.) and they will carry out the on-line video supervision (proctoring) using this kit. We’re not confident this is NCL compliant and cannot obtain clarity from contacting NCL direct. Has anyone else encountered these problems?

Regards, Fergus, Manchester, U.K.
