I will be cruising for the first time with my two young adult daughters to Roatan. Not a first time cruiser, but first time traveling without their father. Considering a shore excursion from the cruise line, but wondering if there are any recommendations outside of the cruise line. Not sure how comfortable I am jumping in a taxi to a beach, but if it is a trustworthy excursion company will consider it. Thank you for any suggestions. Looking for animal sanctuary for interaction with the sloths, monkeys etc… and a nice relaxing swimmable beach. Thanks in advance.

We really, really loved our animal sanctuary/snorkeling tour with Roatan Getaway Tours (booked through Viator). I think they also offer a animal + beach option or you can plan a custom tour (they list Las Palmas beach as an option on their full day tour). If you are interested in snorkeling at all, this one was great for beginners. Clear, warm, shallow water with interesting animals. Not so much the colorful fish there, but other marine wildlife.
