As of May 23, 2022, masks are no longer required for passengers on Ponant ships, unless required by local authorities (such as Greece and Australia).

Just in time for us! - our Ponant cruise starts on June 27 (Mediterranean Odyssey; Nice - Istanbul, LE BOUGAINVILLE).

Does it mean it will be required on the ship during stay in a Greek port?  Or it means it is required while on the shore in such a port?

Reading other cruise lines' sites, it does seem that masks are required indoors on the ship while at Greek ports. I will be curious to see how Ponant interprets and enforces this.

There's also a note that masks aren't required on Greek flights as of June 1, so perhaps we'll see additional changes next week.

It's funny - I've never heard of a potential to physically spread any virus toward a port of call while staying on the ship.

We were on 2 Caribbean cruises: December of last year and this March; each country of ports of call (Mexico and islands) required masks at the time of our both cruises; however, we were required to use them only while on the shore (on the ship masks were not required at any time whether it was a sea day or port day).
