Just returned fromb2b on the Constellation

We are so very pleased the the Constellation is going to home port in Ft. Lauderdale next year. San Juan is nice but it is an extra cost for air plus a great cost for an overnight in in that city. Considering these extra costs we can b2b next year for a longer cruises, 21 days versus 14 out of San Juan for about the same overall price.

The Constellation is just about the perfect mainline ship in the market today. We have been cruising now for over forty years and as far as we can see this is the best ship out there, as many of you say.

We have just been off the ship now for two days and we will report what we found on the ship.

We were in concierge class mid-ship on deck nine. The overhang was a big plus for us because we can not take too much sun. We were able to have a full breakfast on our verandah each day at 9am sharp The table and padded chairs were the correct size and our cabin steward set it all up, including full linen service each day. We would put the order out on the door each night.

We ordered the liquor package and a dozen roses pre-cruise and it was all in our cabin when we came aboard. The cabin was a good size. The only problem with the cabin location was that the pool band would play from time to time and the drummer could send his rhythm down to us. I did some checking in the hall and if one can book about ten cabins forward or ten cabins aft, this problem would solve itself.

The service on this ship was just fantastic. Lots and lots of extra people to help you at every turn.

We did not experience any bad odors at all and we did not find any off color water. We remained on the ship for many days at a time and this worked out well for us.

The pasta station was open thirteen hours every day. We had lunch there or in the spa each day. All fantastic world-class food.

If you have any questions just ask.

Glad to hear you were so pleased with the Constellation. We just finished our first Celebrity cruise on the Infinity, and were so impressed. We're looking at booking the Constellation 11 day out of Ft. Lauderdale next February (Grand Cayman, Aruba, Panama, Costa Rica, and Cozumel).

Until further notice, Celebrity will be our cruiseline of choice.

I did not know that Constellation was changing home ports. Thanks for the information. We have only departed from Fort Lauderdale, and really like it. I am looking forward to reading your impressions, especially regarding the dining room menus, as we are on Constellation this coming summer. From this board, it has been noted that new menus for Celebrity have not necessarily been as good as the previous ones, and I am sure that this concerns more posters than just me.

Hi Ok Book It !

Glad you had a great time on Constellation. We are also thrilled that she will home port in Ft Lauderdale later this year. She is doing the same 10/11 night sailings that Summit previously did. If you like this ship, you will love the Caribbean itineraries from Ft Lauderdale. Also, if you have to fly, it is a lot cheaper to get to Florida, than it is to San Juan.

Thanks for letting us know you had a great time !

More on our b2b cruise on the Constellation

The liquor package @ $55.00 was great. We chose a single malt scotch. It came with six cans of club soda. The flowers last a good week. The Constellation also gave us flowers small arrangement would come with breakfast each morning. There also was one rose in the bath plus another arrangement for the cabin. These flowers were changed for the second week. There is also an very large flower shop on deck eleven that can be used to buy flowers during the cruise.

There was lots of very fine musical groups that would play in the bars at cocktail time and into the evening. All first rate.

Looking at your sigtag it is obvious that you love Constellation. I am glad to see this info as this will be our first cruise on Connie or M class for that matter. We are in Cabin 9043 CC. It will be our first time availing these features for us. We are really looking forward to it...Keep the info coming.

BTW why doesn't Cruise Critic update the Constellation review. 12/05 is old news now. This has always been a problem

Hi folks, this is great to read this info. My hubby and I and other good friends are booked on the Connie next Feb. 19th (along with Jerseygirl here on the thread - although we're not friends...yet...) and any and all info is useful.

We have an aft balcony on the 8th deck (it was recommended over the 9th deck which can be noisy because the restaurant is above it. Hope it's a good choice (8170) - anyone know it???

OK Book It -- we have friends booked in 9125, 9127 and 9129, should they consider moving up or down the corridor because of the noise from the pool band, would appreciate your advice.

We're true blue RCL fans, but cannot wait to try the Connie, and Concierge class will be something new for us. Bring it on!!!!

We sailed on the Connie 4/2/2006 cc class on the ninth floor - room 9061. We loved the overhang for shade and did not have a problem with noise from the action above. Our friends were in 9065 and there is a staff door opposite and they heard noises sometimes in the early morning hours. One floor up and you are at the pool, and seaside cafe.:)
