Finally getting a cruise

We were booked on Discovery for Cosmopolitan Classics 2 years ago, which of course was cancelled.   It would have been our first cruise.

 

So yesterday we had a mad moment and booked on Discovery for 2 weeks today (14th June) for Coastal Gems.   Got a great deal flying from Aberdeen

 

Can't wait 🙂

Got our cabin allocated today, we're in one of the deluxe balcony cabins on deck 7 aft.  Does anyone know if these cabins have a fridge?

Back home today, had a ball,  the weather was fabulous, as was the ship.  We upgraded to premium drinks and found it worthwhile.  Food was great, entertainment was great, ports were great, can't really fault any part of it, apart from the 2.5 hour delay coming home from Palma, but, hey, ho.

 

Need to get saving for our next one.

Good to hear rkingphoto as we,re off on Discovery soon.Been on her before and had a great time.

 

Not looking forward to any delays going or coming home mind you.Been tracking our outbound flight the last three weeks and its been delayed from Edinburgh every week...1hr 30..3hrs and 2hrs

 

Not uprgrading to premier drinks as should be enough for us on the normal drinks package

 

Any idea what draught beer/ lager was available and do they still have the help yourself drink trolleys with bottled beer?

 

Just got the dreaded testing to navigate

The draught lager was Fosters on AI or Heineken on PAI, there were tubs full of ice and beer bottles on deck and at the entrance to the Show theatre, as well as glasses of cocktails, wine, etc.      There were a lot of flight delays on the way out and that delayed sailing by an hour, although our flight from Aberdeen was fine and we were aboard by lunch time.

 

We never waited any time for drinks in any of the lounges but it wasn't always easy to find a seat in the evening.

Great to hear a positive review, hopefully things are getting back to how they were. Think the time is right for me to start looking again!

I actually liked the boats being half full 🙂  but having lively ships is good too

Just checked and its actually Discovery 2 we,re on.....

 

Hope I get on the right plane 😅

 

Been tracking her departure times  the last few weeks and  has had delayed sailings of 3 and 4 hrs .Of course thats if TUI departure on itinerary of 22-00 is correct

Everything is on the app.  Some of the bars had the basic bar menu stuck to the bar but if you wanted the specific menu for that bar you had to look at the Navigate app or scan the QR code on the table.  I should have some of the ones I downloaded still on my phone, I'll see if I can upload them.
