MildredK Posted June 5, 2022 #1 Share Posted June 5, 2022 Hi lovely people, We’re onboard the Royal now - so great! Crew is great across the board! Everyone is masked (I say yeah!!). Embarkation was unbelievably easy! It’s the beginning of Day two so we haven’t been out and about much the ship does seem pretty empty. BUT, We need a workaround please? We’re on Deck 15 in a mini suite. At night motion sensitive under lights come on when we get up (nice so no stubbed toes) and the overhead light comes on in the closet area outside the bathroom is also comes on motion sensitive. Problem - these lights light up the cabin! Anyone know how to turn off the motion sensitive lights at night? Especially outside the bathroom? The sudden change in light wakes me up. And, since we are of a certain age - we do get up during the night 🙂 Thanks!
Rare Essiesmom Posted June 5, 2022 #2 Share Posted June 5, 2022 There is no way to turn them off. There is another very recent thread here about fooling them on the Ruby. Look for it for multiple suggestions. EM

MildredK Posted June 5, 2022 Author #6 Share Posted June 5, 2022 Yes, bars are open for sitting. I think there must be smoking somewhere in the casino since we smelled it.

Rare sunviking90 Posted June 5, 2022 #8 Share Posted June 5, 2022 Looks like you found your answer, but we use the decorative cushions from the bed to block the lights under the nightables, and your cabin steward will tape over the sensor light by the closet if you ask. KLM3164 Posted June 5, 2022 #9 Share Posted June 5, 2022 You can also grab a couple pool towels and use them to block the lights under the nightstands. As stated above just ask your cabin steward to tape over the sensor light in the ceiling.
Cruisin Kay D Posted June 5, 2022 #10 Share Posted June 5, 2022 We were on Emerald in late March and was able to block the light beside my side of bed. On the upcoming cruise, we will bring eye masks.
cruzsnooze Posted June 6, 2022 #11 Share Posted June 6, 2022 Masking tape over the sensor in the ceiling outside the bathroom works to prevent the light from coming on.

Yes, there is definitely smoking in the casino, over near the card tables.
