Gail in California Posted June 5, 2022 #1 Share Posted June 5, 2022 We are flying into Lima, pre- Macchu Picchu extension of Regent Cruises Santiago to Buenos Aires. Any must see places or recommended tour guides in Lima? Thank you.
Rare carlmm Posted June 8, 2022 #2 Share Posted June 8, 2022 The absolute must see is the historic city centre with the cathedral and some other churches, monasteries and buildings. I would also recommend the gold museum presenting precolumbian artefacts. Lima is very huge with many different neighbourhoods, very poor, very rich and much in between. Thus a guided tour that takes you allaround would also be interesting.

My Regent cruise on Mariner LA to Lima is this November. Enjoy your cruise!

AnnieBelle Posted October 25, 2022 #6 Share Posted October 25, 2022 Lima is a stop on my 2023 cruise. Some mentioned the potential for altitude sickness but I can’t imagine that’s an issue if you’re not going up into the mountains.
PhD-iva Posted December 3, 2022 #7 Share Posted December 3, 2022 I am just back from my 3 November Regent Mariner cruise from Los Angeles to lima. I added a three day private tour to southern Peru with Ernesto Riedner. He can be reached at ernesto dot riedner at gmail dot com. I highly recommend him and I include here my review of my tour with Ernesto. I welcome any inquiries about my experiences.
