Cute and good walking shoes

Can anyone recommend some cute and comfortable walking shoes?  Bought a pair of Taos really cute sneakers but they were too small and they don’t come in a larger size.  I need an 11-1/2 or 12 (it seems  the older I get, the bigger my shoe size gets!).  Would love some ideas!

Thank you…

Have had two back surgeries so really understand the need for good shoes.  I have started buying skechers exclusively - lightweight, good support and CUTE!  I wish I had had these when I was nursing, my feet love them.😀

I 'm tall and have large feet as well as several other issues ... and our feet DO get larger over the years!  Plus we won't put up with the discomfort like we did when we were 30. I've probably been through 300 pairs of shoes in twenty years, just looking for comfort and a bit of style.  I paid a fortune for shoes from Germany and custom inserts through a local specialty shop 20 years ago after replacing a few joints and they are still super comfortable.  VERY ugly, but it's worth it to be able to zip around all day without pain.  I also wear Easy Spirit trainers with 'fat sox'.  Clarks shoes usually fit well and look good.  You might check your area to see if there are any specialty shoe stores, mine is not too far away and they can order any size at all ... plus their sales people are trained and have a great deal of good advice on what kinds of shoes to try.

I am also a fan of Skechers and Clarks shoes. Especially with Clarks you can find comfortable and cute with support. Have you looked at Vionic? They are also wonderfully supportive and have different styles.

I have some high heel wedge/platform shoes and usually bring one pair on a trip/cruise that will go with all my dresses. I find that a wedge or platform is pretty comfortable, especially when I'm only wearing them for a few hours in the evening and not doing a ton of walking. I have Michael Kors wedge/platform sandals that are really pretty and comfortable. I cannot/will not wear the traditional high heel pump these days and do not own any.

I wear a 9 1/2 or 10 and have hard to fit feet that need support.

A few weeks ago I bought a pair of Dorking shoes by Fluchos. They're made in Spain but are not insanely priced ($179 Cdn) and are offered up to at least a size 41. The pair I bought are leather lace ups, like Keds, with a side zip and clear plastic sole. SUPER comfortable and leather means they're durable. I'm going to buy at least one more pair while I know they still produce this style.

Those ARE cute. They remind me of some Taos sneakers I tried hard to love a few years ago. I've given up on Taos -- maybe they are comfortable for some but they do not fit my feet.  Unfortunately though I don't think the sizes are high enough to help the OP.

Cynthia - do you still wear Superga?

I haven't worn Superga in a few years -- they are just too flat and have too little padding for my (problem) feet. Still love the Italian sense of fashion, but I've found other cute shoes that provide better support.

I take an 11/12 or 41/42 EU.  I find the best overall in a flat shoe with support and reasonably priced for walking on cobblestones in Europe is Joseph Seibel  or Romika ….lots of selection in style and colour.  Some can look a bit frumpy but they do have stylish shoes as well.  You can find them in dept stores but Costco have them in the spring/fall.

I also have found ( more $$) that Jimmy Choo from the outlets often have knit sneakers with pretty stones/decorations that are unbelievably comfortable and supportive. I can’t get over how comfortable they are for my big feet😂. I was lucky and got them at 40% off outlet price at a sale and even at outlet prices they are outrageous but wow they are soooo comfortable and they fit very well. It was well worth the money and they are cute.

I like Skechers too--but hate that they are sock-eaters for me!

I find that I am wearing my boat shoes -- Sperry Topsiders -- almost every day.  Currently wearing them with shorts or long pants, but I think I could wear them with a skirt or dress.  They are many years old, but still going strong.  Lightweight, and not bulky, but much better support for me than Skechers or other sneaker-style shoes.

I agree.  I like Skechers, they are cute and easy casual fashion but I wouldn’t want to walk a mile in them.   I can walk 20 miles in my brooks and easily 8 miles a day in my Clark’s.  I am an avid walker and am particular about support and durability

I have two other pairs of shoes, a bit dressier than my boat shoes, which I'm finding very comfortable, and suitable for walking a lot. I don't have the ability to post photos, but they can be found online.

Jessica Simpson Mandalaye - soft leather ballet flats, with elastic criss-cross straps

Calvin Klein driving shoes, similar to the Lacy Bit Loafer

Easy Spirit Traveltime clogs. You can get them with a backstrap if you need/like one. Tip for these or any shoe with removable insoles: Take out the insole and cover it with a low-cut athletic sock, the foot part on top of the insole and opening underneath. Put the now-covered insole back into the shoe and you now have the comfort and absorption factor of wearing socks without "wearing" socks. Easily changed for laundry purposes and protects your shoes from the sweat factor.

I bought a pair of Olu Kai Pehuea Li mesh sneakers to take to Europe.  Now that i'm back, I will say that they were perfect right of the box.  I alternated between them and the Pilahi hi top sneakers.  Over the month that I split beteeen France and Italy, i put a lot of mileage on both.  No blisters, no rubs, just comfy.  The pehuea has the extra feature of being able to turn down the heel piece, turning it into a mule.  That heel piece is like a neoprene so it will mold to your heel.  I give them a hearty 2 thumbs up.  And, they come in size 11 & 12.

Another vote for Sketchers -- they're also an excellent value.  I've just retired from teaching, and standing on a tile floor really "takes it out of" your feet and knees.  I probably wore more Sketchers than anything else over the years.  If I had to pick a single pair of favorites, it'd probably be my Sketchers boat shoes -- cute with shorts or jeans and very lightweight.

Vans are another good tennis shoe choice, and my solid whites are cute with a tee-shirt dress.

If you want solid, walking sandals, you can't do better than Chacos (though Tevas are good too), and they have amazing arch support -- even good in and out of water.

I have Plantar Fasciitis (a common foot ailment and definitely made worse by the above-mentioned standing on hard tile floors for 30 years), and I had custom inserts made by a Podiatrist.  If you have ANY foot problems, please, please go to a doctor and get the good stuff made -- wow, does it make a difference!  I messed around with all sorts of drugstore inserts, which never really worked.  The custom inserts cost one visit to a specialist doctor (insurance covered all but the co-pay), and I've been using them for almost a decade.  They slip into tennis shoes, loafers, and some other shoes.  I had to get rid of lots of cute sandals -- fortunately I have two daughters with the same sized feet, and my loss was their gain!

Has anyone tried Cariuma sneakers?  just curious, since i see them advertised on FB and the magazines i read at the salon.  Decent price point.

I have two (lace up) pair.  They are comfortable, good support, and fine for my wide forefoot.  My canvas ones develop a funny squeak, but the suede don't seem to have that.  I still like their look, though.
