Flights By Celebrity TAP and AIR EUROPA (Florida to Barcelona)

Looking at flights by Celebrity from Miami, Orlando or Palm Beach to Barcelona and returning from Venice.  FBC offer TAP (Portugal)  and Air Europa.  Does anyone have experience with either of these airlines?   What airlines have you used from Florida to Barcelona that have reasonable layover times?  We are not comfortable with only one hour layover to change planes but,  would like something less than five or more hours.  (We have been doing a lot of research on various airlines and leaving from various cities  but, it is getting complicated.).   Thank you for your help.

Tap air has quite a few negative comments on the internet. I initially  had Tap booked for my Europe cruise this August and changed to US carriers.

We have TAP air booked for our Apex cruise in July. Business class was about $1,300 round trip.  Figured we would roll the dice…

Yes, it is less expensive for business class, but I did hear a lot of negative comments but nothing from anyone first hand.   Wondering if it is worth flying to another major city, (Atlanta, DC, or JFK) to get a more direct flight with a more well known carrier.

There's a huge difference in price between TAP and the U.S. lines or their partners.

We used TAP in May coming home from a TA to England. We also read the negative reviews but everything went quite smoothly. They had enough agents (can't say that for out US based airline), were efficient, and the flight was comfortable with good food. Our route went from LHR to Lisbon to EWR.

I have no expeience with TAP so can't comment on them, however we had bad experience on our New York to Madrid overnighht flight on Air Europa - our seats were  changed to immediately in front of a bulkhead so they had ZERO recline. Service onboard was OK, however the meals were unimpressive. There also was a luggage snafu, that was not Air Europa's fault, however getting Air Europa's help took some doing.

We flew TAP premium economy between Canada and Lisbon, and Lisbon and Madeira last month.

 

Very pleased with the trans atlantic service.  Certainly as good or better than other carriers we have used.  We have flown them several times before with the same results.

 

Some people have complained about their baggage handling.  Cannot comment because we never check bags.

I flew business class TAP from Barcelona to Baltimore thru Lisbon with flights by Celebrity and had no problems at all.
