I mean, at least it's within driving distance.

Absolutely! And that gets it insurmountable points! 😂😂

Pardon the wild enthusiasm, but I was a few drinks in. And yeah, I’m also just kinda annoying in general. Especially when I’m giddy. And I was GIDDY. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Okay, I’m a spirit class newbie, so I’d never seen these…… windows into the atrium in a stateroom hallway?!? What’ll they think of next?!?! (I seriously love little quirks like this. Very cool.)

home for 10 days. We upgraded to a balcony from an inside for like $150pp. We were sailing in the Horizon during spring break in March when we got the email. I’m fine with an inside in the Caribbean, but Alaska? For that price? Sign me UP. Was the best decision I’ve made in a while. (Low bar)

You already know.

they had the old light up menus out the first couple nights, then the QR codes reappeared. Honestly, like the rest of the ship, Alchemy never felt that busy and it was never hard to get a spot. The alchemists weren’t nearly as personable and fun as they’ve been on other ships, but part of that may have been the low key vibe in general. I do love the HUGE alchemy space on this class of ship with the stage and everything. Great place to hang out and sit even when the bar is closed.

Great review so far! I've never done an Alaskan cruise OR a cruise on a Spirit class ship - but both are on my bucket list! I'll be following along until the end!

Remember how clear and pretty it’s been so far? All the lovely sun drenched photos? Well, no sooner did we start to eat than the Northern Pacific decided to remind us exactly who the hell she was.

honestly, it was kinda cool seeing a storm roll in quickly like that. It got very cool very fast, and the whole vibe fit the itinerary. That about did us in for day one. Sat on the balcony a bit and watched the rain until it got too wet and windy, then we called it a night.

Easy little buffet breakfast… B loves the omelette stations, which, stop me if you’ve heard this, there was almost never a line for.

oh, and also, there would be a different kind of sausage every day. Breakfast sausage, Italian, andouille, polish, etc… it was a fun little game for me

B had lost her S&S card the night before. Popped to the artists formerly known as pursers and someone had turned it in. After buying a cocktail at alchemy with it somehow. (They removed the charge)

also, it was interesting that as it did get warmer later in the week (and as people began to brave the hot tubs), they never cared to sign you out for towels or anything like that. It was all

honor system. And yes, there was an attendant present.

Love the review! And I have to say this ship might out do the Splendor (with its weird circles and portrait of a dude on a toilet in the elevator) in terms of strange decor.

I really enjoyed the strolls down Deck 3 outside. Even if you can’t walk all the way around the front thanks to the ever elusive Gatsby’s Garden…

and they literally walked us to muster the moment we got on board so that was no issue.

We have been on 8 cruises since they changed the muster process, and Miracle is the only ship that funneled us right to muster upon boarding - Brilliant!  The rest of Carnival's ships need to do this.

Yes! It was insanely easy having it done right there like that! And it prevented all the announcements begging people to get it done before Sailaway!

Java Blue… which was called something else being an older ship, but you know. Also, incredibly easy and almost never a line.

I didn't take a pictures of it, but my 8 and 9 year old boys found it hilarious.  This blog talks about it:

"Americans are not so comfortable with nudity and on some ships Carnival has removed nude décor. The strangest piece of artwork among all the odd things that we found on the Splendor was a painting in an elevator which we dubbed “Naked Toilet Man.” It’s painted in mosaic style and many people in the elevator don’t notice what it actually is, but if you stand outside the elevator and look in it becomes much more obvious.  It would be a shame if they removed it though because it was a good source of amusement – for us anyway. (We’re easily amused.)"  https://mycruisestories.com/2015/08/13/cruise-ship-decor-on-carnival-splendor/

As an aside, I thought it was very easy to see it was a dude on a toilet.  There were many giggles from my children over this and much head scratching from the adults.
