Miracle 10 Day Alaska, 6/10... Mostly Photographic and Disappointing Review

Another buffet night! We’re scheduled at the steakhouse tomorrow, so keeping it simple tonight. A little tired, too.

Absolutely gorgeous night for a deck 10 stroll. The clouds have burned away a bit, and the late sunset was putting on a show.

time to head to the Seaday Brunch! (It oddly wasn’t offered on sea day one) Only about a five minute wait after checking in on the Hub.

Service was great, food was great. Love the Seaday Brunch. Back to this fella. 
 

 

oh yeah… our steward was good and constantly came immediately whenever we needed something; that said, we didn’t really get to talk to him the first day, and he just defaulted to making our room up during the morning. I usually default to evening, but since I know they’re overworked and morning is easier for them to manage the load, I didn’t say anything. Honestly, it worked out just fine. (There we’re lots of quality naps) 

 

also, these Aussie offers are relentless. I wish I could, but man, that flight is daunting. Plus, B went to Australia a couple years ago and loved it, but she’d be a tough sell to go back again so soon.

It’s off to serenity, where we were crazy enough to grab some towels and hit the hot tub at 52 degrees and cloudy! 
 

 

honestly, it was great! We ended up chatting with a really interesting and fun couple from Las Vegas for about an hour or so… you can really chill out in the hot tubs longer when it’s cold out, your body really regulates the temps and balances out. Also, there was literally no one else out vying for the space, so I didn’t feel bad hanging out. 
 

 

when we got out, the water was so warm I didn’t even feel freezing shuffling back to the deck chair and my towel and flip flops. At least at first.

Got involved in a fun chat about the old school themes of the Farcus Fleet

Skybox did way better with the CWS and MLB than they did with the NBA Finals and NHL Finals. The bartenders were great, but it was a struggle to get the big events on (unlike the snoot full of college and NFL football I got on Vista last winter). 
 

 

b is an Angels fan from Southern California, so it was cool (for her - Go Rangers!) that they were on.

Also, everything was ringing up as Buffalo Trace, even when it wasn’t. Not all the bars had BT. This was Woodford, but hey, same price, no harm no foul.

Ran into a slight hiccup when we were told we didn’t have a free bottle of wine… it was the first formal night, and the hostess insisted it was the first TWO nights… she was probably just used to night two being elegant night on basically every cruise shorter than ten days…. 
 

 

I wasn’t gonna make a big deal about it, but within minutes she came back overly apologetic with a bottle of Merlot. Very sweet. We’re off and running.

Chef’s compliments. It’s the little soup in a potato thing. Had it before multiple times, but that’s fine by me because it’s delicious.
