Were you among the lucky folks on the helipad for sail-away?

Yes we were. Our cabin continues to be a problem. Our AC is not working. We piled up the unwanted wine bucket etc on the counter by the door. Or PCH came by for the AC and said he will get the trash later. I found that strange. He was at the sail away so we thought he took care of it. Guess not it is still here. . We did run into the retreat manager at the sail away and she will check on us later. We will not let this spoil anything.  We will ask for a fan if it doesn’t get fixed by bedtime.

Sorry you're getting a slow start with AC not working and other issues.  Glad you made it onboard.  I'm wondering when you're out and about if you would look to see what kind of chairs are on the Promenade deck out under the life boats?  Are there any?  Do they have any cushions, are they lounges or just chairs of some sort.  I saw pictures of chairs at a distance from years past, so am curious if they still have something out there.  Also, what about a library, or some sort of book collection to pull a few popular titles to read.  Any help/info you can give would be much appreciated.  I'll be following along and thank you!

The Personal Retreat Host is not the person to empty the minibar, that’s the room steward job. Although the host should have made a note to tell your room steward. As someone else said, the afternoon snack is no problem except during late afternoon. We asked for chips or other salty snack, and our butler would drop off a tightly wrapped plate or bowl right after lunch, so we had something salty for cocktails. This was pre-Covid

Maybe that is how it is in other ships but on the infinity it is the PRH. Both the cabin steward and PRH made it clear he handles all the drink related issues. Either way our mini is filled with our preferred beverages and the ice bucket was filled. Our room is cooler not cool but tolerable.

I have some pictures of chairs and the library. The promenade deck is blocked forward with storage items so not much walking can take place. The library has a few games and books available. B14C5458-2AA6-4428-B1FA-673A001DA8C8.thumb.jpeg.eb5247a98929c4f19838998e8fd53c53.jpeg8A64C3A0-2F6A-4D55-BC19-A375A54ECCA8.thumb.jpeg.de01823ac1bd81c625cc03f22d247778.jpeg7DC4C432-0279-4ED6-BF1C-09733A475D12.thumb.jpeg.9ca0010b999c61f66fdd93d1cf1cb29e.jpeg2AC76D02-8F5B-44B0-9EDB-B781047DBB50.thumb.jpeg.a4dd95ceb85aa98d9a5a80c5ecc4040c.jpeg19E6A631-411E-464A-B0E3-D15FFCFCDE0D.thumb.jpeg.dabd5d40b2a13a756ff2b5473f7831bc.jpegA31E836D-81AD-4B99-8306-36A8CB34B7F5.thumb.jpeg.79d15634e72193c50922ab36cdacb67f.jpegFE03924C-31AC-466B-A73C-425EC34C78AA.thumb.jpeg.248b027320fa98f5e615177794be7f01.jpeg

Thank you so very much for the pictures of the loungers on the promenade deck and the library.  I see the chairs for smokers, with cushions.  On the Equinox, they had wooden chairs with cushions for the smoking area, and the same, hard wooden chairs on the other side, with no cushions!, for the non-smokers.  I see the library has some books.   Appreciate your taking the time.  Hope your cabin gets even cooler; we had to go through that on another brand's ship in April--kept working with them to get air, more air, more air.

We are on the ship!  We had 11:00 check in.  We stayed at the Hampton Inn Fort Lauderdale Airport North.  It is my first time staying there.  It is convenient but not very clean.  They have a shuttle that is $15 per person if needed.  I don’t think I will be staying there for my solo cruise in September.

Now back to the cruise.  Check in for the Retreat was quick and did not look busy for non retreat guests either.  Everyone and I mean everyone was super excited to see us.  They were cheering and clapping. The captain was personally greeting everyone. They really wanted to make it special for her first time back in service and she is the last Celebrity ship to get back to work.

I was on the Infinity in 2017 and she has had some work done since then.  The carpet in the common areas looks clean and newer.  The furniture in the lounges looks in good repair.  She may be old but she is looking good.

We are in cabin 6145, it is a sky suite next to the Penthouse suite AFT.  It has some challenges and definitely needs an update.  There is only one electrical outlet for the whole cabin and very limited storage.   I knew this ahead of time and we brought only one carry on each.

We ate lunch in Luminae (my first time)

It was very clean and bright everyone was super attentive.  We walked through the Ocean View cafe and it looked great. The desserts were outstanding.  The crew serves you and I am ok with that.

I received a call from Celebrity as I was boarding the plane yesterday asking about our room preferences. I was panicked and told her no welcome wine, empty fridge, fresh ice and extra pillows.  Our Personal Retreat Host/Butler greeted us but did not seem to be to excited to do the few things I asked such as empty the fridge and keep us with fresh ice and take away the welcome wine.  I have read other threads regarding this so I asked about afternoon snacks and he told us to go Michaels Lounge.  We really don’t want the snacks but I thought I would ask.  I am keeping an open mind on this as my only other suite experience is the Haven on NCL.  Our room steward was very pleasant and I know she will do a good job.

I will try to attach some pictures I took today. They are mainly food oriented as we were hungry. I will catch snaps of other parts as the cruise goes on.

I was told 1750 passengers on this sailing he did not know for next sailing. They are advertising that you can stay on for next cruise. Just ask for availability by the 29th.

For those sailing on the Infinity make sure to take picture ID when leaving ship in Key West they do check to get back on. Of course my sister forgot hers!  She had to go to a different line and they checked her in. There was a moment of panic.

Thanks for the great pictures. Hope you get your Retreat person sorted out. I’m scheduled to be on in August for a 2 week B2B.
Would love to see some pictures of the casino 🎰🎲. Interested to know if the craps table will be open.
If you like Mayan ruins, try the River Cruise excursion in Belize. Did it in March off the Apex. Great day.

Following your adventure!

@cruising sister.......many thanks for the great pictures and all your hard work posting updates...now if you could just lean to the left and post a pic of 6118 that would be ideal.....

We have been walking down the hall by the room waiting to see if we see anyone coming out of it to ask if they would share a picture. So far no luck.

Update on the AC, there seems to be a problem in lots of areas. There are kinks to be worked out for sure.  Our room is tolerable but definitely not cool. We will ask for a fan for tonight. I will take pics of casino when it opens up.

I am on the cruise in Aqua class on deck 9.  My expectation was after 2.5 years I dry dock that the cabins would be made ready for passenger occupation this cruise but sadly not the case.  As mentioned the a/c is not cooling adequately, our veranda door was off the track, the garbage bin in the bathroom (strangely the only one in the cabin) is broken, the cabin steward informed us he does not empty the mini bar (day two and still waiting).   Registered complaints with cabin steward and called guest relations to no avail.  Ended up going to guest relations last night at 11 PM to get cabin issues address and they sent repair men (oh and by the way we were out of the cabin from 5 PM- 10:30 PM last night and the room steward had not even made the cabin up- bed not made, morning towels still on the floor, etc.).  We have cruised on Celebrity many times but not since the pandemic.  It will be an one and done on the Infinity for me- ship is ready to be retired.   Booked on Oceana next summer on the Vista out of London which I will start looking fwd to as the Infinity experience is lacking for me.
