Rideshare availability post cruise

We are cruising early October from Galveston.  We have 4 adults in our party and are arriving 2 days before cruise.   I have been doing mock rideshare costs during the times we would be getting to and from Galveston and to and from cruise port to Hobby.   Our Galveston hotel does not offer a shuttle to cruiseport and rideshare for Sundays and approximate time of departure shows "limited availability" to port and similarly on the return day (Saturday) to Hobby.   Does anyone have any experiences on how difficult to get an Uber/Lyft or just take the safe route and take cruise transportation back to airport?

When we got off at the beginning of April, we were in the first group off.  We also had limited availability but did get a driver to pick us up after a few minutes wait.

I had used rideshares a couple times on our trip before we left on the cruise and one driver told us that it isn't a popular time for drivers because most people getting off the ship are going to nearby hotels, so they don't make enough money to be "worth it".

Our backup plan was a taxi.  Not sure how easily they are available.
