Which Hyatt in Jersey city would you choose - Hyatt Regency, Jersey City or Hyatt House, Jersey City?

The Hyatt Regency says it "offers unparalleled views from every room, encompassing the New York City skyline, the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, and the Hudson River from the George Washington Bridge to the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge.” I love the sound of that.

The Hyatt House is a bit cheaper and includes breakfast.  The breakfast, however, gets mixed reviews and many seem disappointed with the view from their room.

We would be staying for 4 nights at the end of August before sailing from Cape Liberty.

Thank you!

They are different types of hotels-- Hyatt Regency is a full service, 4 star hotel. Hyatt House is a limited service hotel-- the equivalent of a Hilton Garden Inn or a Residence Inn by Marriott.

Geographically, they are virtually identical. My personal preference is typical is less pretentiousness, lower cost, and more self-service (e.g., guest laundry, breakfast buffet); I tend not to care at all about the view from the hotel room because I rarely spend any time sitting in the hotel room staring at the view (especially when I could simply take the elevator down to the ground floor and walk within the view. These preferences of mine would likely mean that I would favor Hyatt House over Hyatt Regency. You probably have different preferences than me, so my likely favorite may not be relevant to your decision-making.

Stayed at the Regency and loved it.  View was OK, not that great from our room (NY Skyline) - partially because it was a rainy day with limited visibility.

We are going to try the Westin Jersey City Newport for next June (had a great deal w/ Marriott points).  I

I doubt you will be spending much time in your room. For me the less expensive cost and free breakfast would have me choose the Hyatt House. You’ll be on a cruise the next seven days with huge breakfasts, a light breakfast and coffee is good enough for me.

Have a drink at the roof top bar with the money you save!
