swamom Posted June 28, 2022 #1 Share Posted June 28, 2022 The Alaska cruise departing Aug 3 is a Spotlight on Public Broadcasting cruise. Does anyone know what that is? I’m just curious thanks
hvsteve1 Posted July 16, 2022 #2 Share Posted July 16, 2022 You will probably have some speakers from PBS and maybe a few new programs to watch. One or two of the speakers will probably be on-air personalities.
GOARMY Posted July 17, 2022 #3 Share Posted July 17, 2022 swamom: Assuming this "Spotlight" will provide a format similar to a "Spotlight" opportunity we had (prior to COVID): A combination of general Lecture-formatted 45 minute presentations in the Theater open to ALL; and then, a separate set of social opportunities such as a cocktail reception to meet with, and perhaps later share a dinner table with one of the Presenters. You might want to review the Work-in-progress Roll Call Thread concerning an upcoming October 3rd, 2022 R/T Los Angeles cruise aboard Mariner. We will be onboard for this "Spotlight on PBS Hollywood" cruise segment. Spotlights are treated as a separate Shore Excursion. (No charge.) There are several entries concerning this aspect. Social opportunities for mixing and mingling with Presenters are capacity-controlled, therefore open to those who have signed up. Suggest you contact Regent directly; or your Travel Agent ASAP should you wish to follow-up. You can later confirm being included at this particular venue by reviewing the "Your Pre-Selected Shore Excursions" page of travel documents. If time has run out, you might want to ask about being put on a Wait List. GOARMY!
