Umbrellas and binoculars

Does SS provide either on an ocean (non-expedition) cruise?  Deciding what I  need to pack / leave at home and couldn’t find a definitive answer.

Kind of weird they don't provide binoculars, but guess I'll pack ours.  And one umbrella, though I suppose our butler could get us a second if needed for a rainy day shore excursion.

No need for extra umbrellas, there’s one in your suite but there will also be a bin full near the gangway.

Yeah, I was about to say the same.  If it is a rainy day, they put a big bin of the same umbrellas near the gangway to take.

 

These are the large, full size umbrellas.  Not the ones that collapse into a small size you could put into a backpack or large purse.

As mentioned, they are big ol', Mary Poppins umbrellas.  One likely would be enough for two (if you like each other enough), and even that one umbrella is a lot to deal with.  Frankly, I would rather have a waterproof, hooded shell.

On the Dawn in May they also provided packages of clear ponchos at the gangway in addition to the extra umbrellas

They used too!  I’m sure you’ll find yours is much better than what they used to provide though. 😁
