My husband and I did a kayak, hike, snorkel tour at Cas Cay in St Thomas. I wouldn't say it was fabulous but it was nice. It was a relaxed paddle, then we had a brief "hike" (really a walk on some paths to get to the snorkel area). I don't remember that the snorkeling was anything special - but mainly because it was my first time snorkeling and I was concentrating on remembering to breathe! It was a nice way to spend an afternoon.

I know you asked about kayak excursions, but I have to recommend The Baths at Virgin Gorda if you're going to Tortola. You take a boat ride over Virgin Gorda, hike through Devil's Bay National Park to a beach. You spend some time swimming, then go through the caves out to another beach. Do a Google search for the Cathedral - a pool within a small cave. Really cool excursion!
