C4HCG Posted July 24, 2022 #1 Share Posted July 24, 2022 How do people do it? We continually struggle and have to do two flights each way which isn’t good.
capriccio Posted July 25, 2022 #2 Share Posted July 25, 2022 If you haven't done this already, I suggest posting youe question on the UK Cruisers forum where it may be seen by more cruisers with experience flying from northern UK to south Florida. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/544-uk-cruisers/

sandancer Posted July 25, 2022 #4 Share Posted July 25, 2022 We have been doing this for years and have never been able to make that journey without taking a connecting flight. Not sure about Manchester so you might investigate that.
FreestyleNovice Posted July 26, 2022 #5 Share Posted July 26, 2022 Florida has a lot of seasonal airports/destinations for us Europeans, year round they are not that interesting for air lines. Miami has been on and off for KLM direct from Amsterdam in the recent years. We prefer, if there is no direct flight: inbound to the US, short layover in Europe or late night in say an Atlanta (Delta/KLM). Back home a change of planes after crossing the Atlantic on a redeye flight is more of a burden. Everyone or most of those on that second short morning hop across the channel of through Germany to Amsterdam is fresh and alive, ready for whatever they will do in Amsterdam, we not so much heh. Direct flights are the best!
C4HCG Posted July 26, 2022 Author #6 Share Posted July 26, 2022 We have concluded Manchester to Orlando, a few nights there as we love the area having been there every year as the kids were growing up, then drive down the Turnpike and back up again. Was hoping that someone somewhere knew of a direct flight from our part of the UK, ridiculous that there isn’t one.
FreestyleNovice Posted July 27, 2022 #7 Share Posted July 27, 2022 Edinburgh - Orlando (seasonal, summer) but that might be to far up north. Use the map at https://www.flightconnections.com/ to easy explore (future) routes.
KINGBOBOFTHENORTH Posted July 28, 2022 #8 Share Posted July 28, 2022 Leeds Bradford Airport has no nonstop service to the United States. TUI Airways flies nonstop from the following cities to Orlando Melbourne International Airport which is just down the road from Port Canaveral: Birmingham (UK), Bristol, Doncaster/Sheffield, Edinburgh, Glasgow, London–Gatwick, Manchester (UK), Newcastle upon Tyne
lovescarborough Posted July 29, 2022 #9 Share Posted July 29, 2022 We live near Scarborough and always fly from Heathrow. It’s really easy to drive to Heathrow the night before our flight and stay in one of the hotels with parking. The prices are competitive and very little difference in price to parking at Manchester. We love the Renaissance hotel. Miami airport is a pain getting through immigration but after a nights stay near the airport and a good nights sleep we’re ready for the cruise next day ! All being well we’ll be there in January.
