Two excursions, 1 day.

Recommended Posts

So I’m planning to take 2 shores excursions in one of the port days on my upcoming cruise to NZ. Both are via the cruise line - princess if that matters.

My question is what’s the deal with the in between time? There is 2 hours between the first and second and we were hoping to stay ashore and have a bite before joining the second one, but I know more cruise ship excursions start with a meeting time somewhere on board. Is there a way to meet them as the disembark the ship instead or do I HAVE to get back on the ship? It’s a tender port so it’s not a super quick get on/off situation.

Once onboard go to the excursions desk and ask them what is possible.

They will have a meeting point aboard, but then they just move you in a group to a pick-up point ashore, in this case near the tender wharf. Should be doable, but you will need to still follow-up at the tours desk, as you will usually get your tour sticker when you check-in to the meeting point on the ship.

On the day, you may need to find the excursion coordinator on the pier so they can notify the shorex people on the ship to say you have shown up. Then go to the required bus or meeting point and wait for the rest of the tour group to arrive.
