57redbird Posted August 10, 2022 #1 Share Posted August 10, 2022 We are booked in cabin 4116 --- narrow-ish balcony but covered & lifeboat tops in front of us --- don't know if it's still available but we were offered a cabin on Deck 6 -- wider uncovered balcony ---- pros & cons to each please.... TIA.

TIA. Staterooms that are sandwiched between other staterooms are less prone to noise coming from the public venues on the ship. Being on a higher deck offers a better view and photo opportunities.
57redbird Posted August 10, 2022 Author #3 Share Posted August 10, 2022 Thanks - I just looked at a more expanded deck plan & it looks like the lifeboats are behind our cabin so probably not in the way except for looking aft.
jhsocal Posted August 10, 2022 #4 Share Posted August 10, 2022 If still interested, look at deck plans to see what would be above you, hopefully, cabins.
crystalspin Posted August 10, 2022 #5 Share Posted August 10, 2022 4116 is below cabins but above the "Front Office" (customer service) desk in the attrium... Seems like not a very noisy location, unless all-attrium events. Any room on Deck 6 will have cabins above and below. Do you have a specific cabin in mind? Thank you all!

The Tender aft of your 'bump' balcony is set back, I think you'd have to stand AT the rail and crane your neck to even see it.
CafeBruno Posted August 10, 2022 #8 Share Posted August 10, 2022 One more thing that may or may not be important to you - cabin 4116 is a connecting cabin; connects to 4118. We've had a couple of not so great experiences with connecting cabins, with unwanted noise from the connecting cabin filtering through the connecting door. We feel the noise is much more noticeable compared to a non-connecting cabin, so now we avoid connecting cabins.

We've had a connecting cabin in the past & heard nothing from that area BUT they weren't the best neighbors out on their balcony. Liked the extra space by the connecting door for putting stuff like the laundry basket, tote bags, etc.
