marco2111 Posted August 13, 2022 #1 Share Posted August 13, 2022 We are on an Alaska cruise out of Vancouver. Anyone have a suggestion to spend the day after we get off the ship in Vancouver? Our return flight is at 11pm. We had planned to do princess 's hop on bus but recent reviews are really bad. Anyone use it recently? We found a tour to whistler but that' the only all day tour we found. We are spending a few days precruise in Victoria and Vancouver so we hopefully will have done most touring in vancouver Thanks Karen
CruiserBruce Posted August 13, 2022 #2 Share Posted August 13, 2022 Perhaps ask on the Canada board, here: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/23-canada-alaskapacific-coastal/ Or the West Coast board, here: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/315-west-coast-departures/ As Vancouver is not in Alaska.

JT1962 Posted August 13, 2022 #4 Share Posted August 13, 2022 This tour is an excellent option and includes luggage handling and airport drop off: https://vancouvertours.com/tour/post-cruise-vancouver-delights-tour/
KansCocoa Posted August 13, 2022 #5 Share Posted August 13, 2022 We used Mahara with ToursByLocals two weeks ago in Vancouver - had a lovely day with her, where she gave us a city tour, and then spent time with us at Capilano Suspension Bridge… We spent an hour or so at the Public Market, which was fun. I would highly recommend her.
Rare tetleytea Posted August 13, 2022 #6 Share Posted August 13, 2022 If you had only that one day, I would probably go to Stanley Park. Depends on if you like zoos, horse carriage rides, and stuff. A lot of the other Vancouver options, you eat up a lot of your day traveling. Granville Island might be manageable, too; but Stanley Park is right there; you can see it from Canada Place. flashpackprincess Posted August 13, 2022 #7 Share Posted August 13, 2022 We similarly had an 11 pm flight and chose to go to Whistler, as we had already had a few days in Vancouver pre-cruise. Had some amazing stops along the Sea to Sky highway and really enjoyed going up and doing the Peak2Peak. Made it back in time to still have a quick dinner and then go to YVR. Rumpelstump Posted August 14, 2022 #8 Share Posted August 14, 2022 A walk, bike, or e-bike on the sea wall around Stanley park is a great way to spend a few hours. Consider the Vancouver aquarium. Also consider visiting the anthropology museum at University of British Columbia. The UBC campus is real nice. Public transportation in Vancouver is excellent and cheap. Use public transportation to get to yvr and other venues. The big issue is where to store your luggage. Perhaps the places you rent bikes will help you with that but I’m not sure if they will or not. Good luck!
QueenWiggler Posted August 15, 2022 #9 Share Posted August 15, 2022 I haven't gone yet, but I booked one of the post-cruise tours with this company. They have a couple options and will drop you off at the airport when the tour is over: Pre/Post Cruise Services - Vancouver Excursion - Landsea Tours (vancouvertours.com)
