mjhbrown Posted August 16, 2022 #1 Share Posted August 16, 2022 Hi All, we will be in Venice, FL in January and just booked a cruise out of Tampa. looking for recommendations for getting from point a to point b. First option is to drive ourselves and park. Any info on where to park and/or cost for 6 days? second choice is car service picking us up in Venice and dropping us at cruise and then in reverse when we disembark. Third choice is drive in night before, get a hotel with free parking while you cruise and shuttle to and from port. I’m looking for the most stress free, for me, way to accomplish this. Thank you all for any assistance/guidance you can offer. MJ
bajathree Posted August 16, 2022 #2 Share Posted August 16, 2022 Drive yourself and park at the port. Port parking in Tampa is right across from the terminal and so easy...they even have valet if you like. https://www.porttb.com/parking
Tryingtocruise Posted August 17, 2022 #3 Share Posted August 17, 2022 We live in Venice and took our last cruise out of Tampa. Park at the Port. You used to be able to pre pay and there was a discount but that was pre pandemic. Check the Port website for the latest info. When the cruise was over, we were over the ship and home before 10 am. We probably stopped for breakfast too.
hrhdhd Posted August 17, 2022 #4 Share Posted August 17, 2022 Depending on which ship/terminal, parking might be in front of the terminal, not even across the street. (Celebrity's parking is like that.) Drive and park.
kelbell Posted August 17, 2022 #5 Share Posted August 17, 2022 Parking at the port is very convenient. We use "Park Connect" Its a pre-paid cheaper than garage prices. I'm not sure if it has returned sense covid. Websit is "Myparkconnect". I just checked, it's back and prices have gone up.
RocCruisers Posted August 17, 2022 #6 Share Posted August 17, 2022 The port is less than a couple hours away. Easy drive on 75. You can even take the long way over the Sunshine Bridge. We always found the biggest hassle is getting through security. Drive there, stop for potty break on 75, drop everyone else off at door, park the car, walk across the street, go through security and on the ship in two hours. Just remember that either way, you may have to pay for tolls. (SunPass or Pay by Plate)
