Rare Radio Posted September 20, 2022 Author #352 Share Posted September 20, 2022 (edited) Hello everyone and good evening. Today has been a wonderful day. I was able to get the passenger count for this Cruise. It turns out it's a little less than last week with 5665 passengers, with 488 kids. The Royal Shops were very busy all day. Most of the shops and tables on a Royal Promenade offered promotions specials for the day. Most passengers seem to be very happy with their choice sailing on Oasis of the Seas. Things appear to be more relaxed than it was on DAY 1. Most passengers have been very friendly and very courteous. Almost 2,000 crew members had their hands full I am sure with so many passengers this week. I am really not sure what the red dresses indicate. There seems to be hundreds of passengers that are all wearing the same red dress. Maybe it's a group or maybe it is a type of event. The Top Tier Event brought a large crowd to Studio B this morning. There are over 2500 Crown and Anchor members on board this week. There are 1162 Gold Members, 391 Platinum , 225 Emerald, 443 Diamond, 260 Diamond Plus. There are 58 Pinnacle Club members. I am happy to say that a "Cruising with Radio" member won a nice award because she is the number one cruiser on board Oasis of the Seas this week. Congratulations, Carol. I guess I spoke a little too soon about how great the weather has been. This afternoon at about 3pm is when the heavy rains began. We have been having significant swells, with dark cloudy skies. Luckily, the ship's stabilizers are working to provide passengers a smoother sailing on our way to Port Canaveral. We are still scheduled to arrive in Port Canaveral tomorrow afternoon by 1pm. Here are a few pics, and thanks for tuning in. Radio Today started out so nice. . . The weather changed this afternoon. CD Bobby and Captain Tore spoke during the Cheers with an Officer event this afternoon. The menu offered a nice selection. Illusionist Jason Bishop was very good, and very funny. I am not sure what the red dresses indicate. The stowaway piano player found his way through different elevators today. The Clash for Crystal City laser tag was held again in Studio B Passengers we're having a lot of fun playing laser tag. PXL_20220919_223955878.mp4 Captain Tore greeted everyone in the Top Tier Event this morning. Congratulations to Carol for being the top cruiser on Oasis of the Seas this week. . It appears that birds seem to like the Central Park area, and sometimes in Port calls they may like it so much that they decide to live there. . .

Rare Radio Posted September 20, 2022 Author #357 Share Posted September 20, 2022 (edited) Hello everyone, Good Morning. Welcome to DAY 3 of "LIVE" from Oasis of the Seas. Sept 20, 2022. There were several passengers who suggested that I go and check out the new tribute band, "Phoenix" in Studio B. I did go and have a listen, and they are very good. I would say they are much better than the Studio B performance from last week (Aeromyth). I wouldn't call Phoenix at "tribute band" though. . . They play covers from many groups. They play Bon.Jovi, U2, ELO, Queen, and many others. This band, Phoenix is "Radio Approved" There are many people who subscribe to James Van Fleet on Twitter. He is the Chief Fleet Meteorologist for Royal Caribbean and will broadcast a daily forecast for every ship in the fleet. He has suggested that Hurricane Fiona will cause extra swells where Oasis of the Seas is going, and it =May= cause problems for Oasis to dock at CocoCay. The important word here is "May". Currently, things are Ok, but we will wait and see if things stay the same or get worse. We are scheduled to dock at Port Canaveral at 1pm. We are also scheduled to dock at CT-1 Passenger Terminal. Anyone can follow the approach by going to Port Canaveral web cam dot com. I'm sure I will visit Grills Seafood and Tiki Bar again, as well as visiting sunrise dive shop and maybe the Seas Turtle preservation society kiosk. They have a lot of great souvenirs for cruise ship passengers. Here are a few pics from last night and this morning. Thanks for tuning in. Radio Phoenix is very good Phoenix is the featured performance in Studio B. They will be offering several performances this week. PXL_20220920_011414476~2.mp4 Central Park entrance. A view of the FWD elevators on Deck 8. Passengers have many choices for breakfast other than Windjammer Marketplace. The sun is trying to peek through heavy clouds and dark skies. I love Central Park especially in the evening but WHO can sit in the chairs they have and actually get out of them? Okay I am not the smallest or most flexible guy but geez, sit in these chairs your almost eye level with table top. Feels like your are 12 years old. Rare Radio Posted September 21, 2022 Author #371 Share Posted September 21, 2022 (edited) Hello everyone good evening. . . My Tuesday in Port Canaveral was almost identical to last week. I hung out at Grills Seafood and Tiki Bar, and then went over to Sunrise Dive shop. The weather today was much different than I expected. The forecast for Port Canaveral was cloudy skies, thundershowers and heavy rains for most of the day. When I woke up this morning I saw heavy clouds and dark skies. Today in Port Canaveral was very warm with sunny skies, and no rain. I was very happy with the actual weather that Port Canaveral had. I like it a lot better when I sail from Cruise Maryland, the ships take 2 days to arrive here and arrive at 7:00 am. at the pier. That gives you the whole day to do an excursion or rent a car or do what you wish. Today we did not dock until 1:30 and passengers were not free to go ashore until 2:30. There were however hundreds of passengers who bought a transfer to Orlando (1 hr away) for an excursion to Kennedy Space Center (30 min away) It is just easier for me when the ship arrives early. Tomorrow we are scheduled for CocoCay and we have not received any announcement about late arrival or swapping ports, or alternate ports. Things may change, but for now the schedule remains the same. We pulled into the port today next to CT-1, rather than back in. Oasis of the Seas most often backs into the docking section of the pier (like we did last week) I am guessing it is due to divers cleaning the hull underwater. Captain Tore suggested this maneuver last week at Captain's Corner when I asked him why there were divers in Port Canaveral. Here are a few pics from today. Thanks for tuning in. Radio As we approach Port Canaveral, I can see the NASA vehicle assembly building. We passed the north beaches into the Port Canaveral cut. We arrived a little late but we are now here. I was able to make it over to Grills Seafood and Tiki Bar. You can see Oasis of the Seas easily from here. The food is always good at Grills, and the crew is very friendly. There are always great views at Grills I had to stop in to Sunrise dive shop They're always seems to be something I need. CT-1 It's time for dinner so I must get back to the ship. We had a nice sunset in Port Canaveral. . Edited September 21, 2022 by Radio
