4774Papa Posted September 14, 2022 #1 Share Posted September 14, 2022 Our TA is in seven months and we have had little activity recently. Most people don't wait until the last minute to book a TA.
karena1 Posted September 14, 2022 #2 Share Posted September 14, 2022 Most cruises are now back to full capacity. We love it, so nice to see ships full again. 1

runner2013 Posted September 14, 2022 #6 Share Posted September 14, 2022 Guess i'm the odd woman out. I preferred less folks. Made getting a table, or a seat so much easier. But now that things are back to normal it won't stop me from going😁 11

Google your ship and sail date and something should come up.

Cruising89143 Posted September 14, 2022 #10 Share Posted September 14, 2022 On a B2B on the NV last month. Both cruises were well over 100%. One of the legs had 3910 which is just shy of. A completely filled ship. No problems at all.

I cruised as much as I could while everyone else was staying away. 🙂 But, i will continue to cruise. Bags are packed. 🛳 ready to go again.
Ret MP Posted September 15, 2022 #12 Share Posted September 15, 2022 Personally, I'm Okay with 100% capacity, as long as the crew and venues/activities are at 100% staffing/availability. I've cruised, last May, on a ship that wasn't fully staffed and many venues were not available. Some of the venues were open with staff that had no idea how to do things. I guess the philosophy by RCCL, at the time, was that a warm breathing body is better than none. It sucked but I understand what RCCL was up against. I'm still loyal to Royal! 1
time4u2go Posted September 15, 2022 #13 Share Posted September 15, 2022 I'm also in the crowd that LOVED the below-capacity sailings. So much easier to move around.
geneticsguy Posted September 15, 2022 #14 Share Posted September 15, 2022 I am on Symphony of the Seas in early October and TONS of stuff is completely sold out. I suspect that we are getting back to nearing full capacity.
PhillyFan33579 Posted September 15, 2022 #15 Share Posted September 15, 2022 (edited) I have been on 9 RCI cruises this year and all of them were close to or at full capacity. The only cruise I have been on this year that wasn’t very crowded was on Celebrity Apex. Of course Carribean cruises probably aren’t the best comparison to a TA cruise. But, I’m cruising with or without the masses. Always a place (my Balcony) for downtime when I feel the need for just me & the ocean. 💙💙 🛳🛳 Bobbi

KATHYMAC68 Posted September 15, 2022 #18 Share Posted September 15, 2022 I personally loved the 50% capacity back in November. No issues finding chairs, space in the hot tubs and short lines in the Windjammer. I'm leaving Oct 8th for a b2b and I guess I’ll be up early to secure my chair by the pool.

Usually, the capacity of a ship is quoted assuming there are EXACTLY 2 people per cabin. Many suites and balcony cabins are capable of sleeping more than 2 so the ship could reach over 100% STATED capacity but not, of course the TRUE maximum capacity...
smokeybandit Posted September 15, 2022 #20 Share Posted September 15, 2022 The only rooms left unsold are the covid jail rooms that I can't imagine RC will keep around too much longer, if they even still have them.
brevardcruiser Posted September 15, 2022 #21 Share Posted September 15, 2022 They are cruising over 100% for a majority of cruises. For the company to be around and make money they need to. Our oasis was around 60% capacity in March. Independence last month over 100%. Just a few months and back to normal.
Rare moposh Posted September 15, 2022 #22 Share Posted September 15, 2022 I was surprised that some shore excursions for an April cruising are sold out. Recent cruise was full. I wouldn't mind cruising with fewer people.
Tagsalong Posted September 15, 2022 #23 Share Posted September 15, 2022 Last week Harmony of the Seas had 5800 guests (per Capt. Johnny). That's 105% (double occupancy is 5497).

Rare SimplyAlbert Posted September 15, 2022 #25 Share Posted September 15, 2022 Just back from our Explorer of the Seas cruise and our ship was either at capacity or very close to it. A huge contrast to the one we took in February that was only 25-30% capacity.
