Keeping the Glory out of harm's way

Looks to me like new orders came down.  Not quite sure what this week's itinerary was supposed to be but Glory is making a beeline for the Yucatan north coast after earlier seemingly headed to Key West and then the Bahamas. Dream is about to steam east from Key West and Valor clearly subbed out Costa Maya for Progreso to get some terra firma between them and Ian. Paradise and Vista are already south and west of the storm so okay.

Sorry folks itineraries are impacted.  But the bottom line is you simply stay away.

Glory was suppose to go to Key West and then on to the Bahamas.

That makes sense if you look at her track.  Key West was fine today for Dream as she heads east.  Tomorrow crossing Ian's path; bad idea.  But you can see on cruisemapper that they made an effort. I'm sure folks are disappointed as a Bahamas cruise is a bit special out of New Orleans.  But safety first.

Years ago we were on the Glory the week after a hurricane destroyed Belize and Costa Mata, so we wound up hitting Key West and Progresso instead.

If you care where your cruise is going, NEVER book between the middle of August through the middle of October. Just go on a cruise, to be on a cruise. (like we did this past weekend to Bimini. Came close to going somewhere else, but we knew that going in)

If you care at all about your itinerary, book outside those 60 days or so.

If you trally, really care, completely avoid July, August, September and October.
