latebuyer Posted September 29, 2022 #1 Share Posted September 29, 2022 Does royal caribbean ever increase the cost of your cruise if you’ve paid in canadian dollars due to the exchange rate? The canadian dollar sure has gone down a lot and i wonder if they’d do this.
Rare Tree_skier Posted September 29, 2022 #2 Share Posted September 29, 2022 (edited) No that is one the advantages of booking in your native currency. If the CDN$ drops like it is now the price of your cruise is locked in and won't change. You get the advantage of the currency discrepancy. If you the CDN$ goes up (unlikely in the near term) Royal will often adjust their current price to reflect the change and you can reprice at the new, lower price. You win in either direction. I have booked in both currencies as I have income and bank accounts in both countries. I currently have 1 booked in CDN$ and 4 in US$ Edited September 29, 2022 by Tree_skier
Rare CaptainBazz Posted September 29, 2022 #3 Share Posted September 29, 2022 The price of the cruise doesn't change but the drinks package price is going crazy right now. On my upcoming cruise it was at CDN$90 and now at CDN$110!! Enough to make you go teetotal! 🤣
latebuyer Posted September 29, 2022 Author #4 Share Posted September 29, 2022 That's a relief. Yes i had already locked in a chops lunch. I'm dreading paying for excursions but my cruise isn't until june and its possible the dollar may increase by then or maybe it will go down more.😒

You can always cancel and rebook. Especially so if there are specific excursions you want to do.
