peribit Posted October 2, 2022 #1 Share Posted October 2, 2022 Is the breakfast at pre-cruise hotel usually at hotel restaurant or at a conference room for all Regent guests?
cwn Posted October 2, 2022 #2 Share Posted October 2, 2022 Our experience is in a conference/ ballroom for the regent passengers.
Portolan Posted October 2, 2022 #3 Share Posted October 2, 2022 (edited) It varies. On our most recent Regent cruise on August, it was in the breakfast area for all at the hotel. No doubt A function of how may are boarding the cruise at that port. Edited October 2, 2022 by Portolan
irishwitchy Posted October 3, 2022 #4 Share Posted October 3, 2022 I always hope the hotel is part of Marriott and I can check the Regent breakfast(ballroom buffet) and the lounge, then pick the best looking one.
Wendy The Wanderer Posted October 3, 2022 #5 Share Posted October 3, 2022 Haven't done this for a while, but I remember just getting a voucher on check-in.
Portolan Posted October 3, 2022 #6 Share Posted October 3, 2022 It occurs to me that it is also typically a function of the US versus overseas. Few US hotels (ironically, especially the luxury brands) routinely include breakfast hence the dedicated room or the vouchers mentioned. Most international hotels do include breakfast so no special arrangements needed (you just provide your room number). This is consistent with our Regent hotel experiences, both domestically and internationally.
Rare Gpilon Posted October 3, 2022 #7 Share Posted October 3, 2022 For our March Splendor cruise, the assigned hotel in Miami was the AKA Brickell. The buffet breakfast provided in a ball room was very underwhelming. Had we known, we would have gladly paid in the restaurant ourselves.

The buffet breakfast at a ballroom/conference room usually is not very good. We are assigned the Intercontinental Hotel in Miami. We may go for breakfast somewhere else. Boatmans Lady Posted October 4, 2022 #9 Share Posted October 4, 2022 In Rome, breakfast was in a vast ballroom and not great, but was edible and filled a hole till we boarded the ship. This was completely different to the hotel in LA. There we received a voucher and ate in the restaurant, which was very good. The difference, approx 400 passengers in Rome and about 20 in LA. taxare Posted October 7, 2022 #10 Share Posted October 7, 2022 At the Hilton in Reykjavik and the Marriott in Lisbon both were buffets in the restaurants and while crowded we thought the food and service was good, including an omelet station at both.
