B2B experience on Transition Day?

This will be our first B2B cruise with NCL. We have done several since cruising started back up with Celebrity and Princess. On those B2B cruises on transition day, mostly in the Caribbean and the Med, we would be escorted off the ship to a secure place in the terminal so they could "clear" the ship. Once the ship was cleared of passengers, we were allowed to simply reboard the ship using our new shipboard cards they had given us. If we were going to go into town or on an excursion, we would use an In Transit Card when we returned to the terminal that allowed us to bypass the check-in process after going through security.

For those that have recently cruised on NCL B2Bs, do they do it about the same way?

Where are you sailing? That makes a difference.

In the US they need to clear the ship, so people have to get off and wait to be let back on (if they don’t want to leave the port), but in other places (ie Europe) you can likely stay onboard if you want.

Thanks! We are on a 38-day B2B from Athens to Cape Town with our transition day in Dubai, UAE.

You may struggle to get a definitive answer then, as there will only be limited experiences of a B2B there.

In my experience, NCL try to avoid having to take people off of the ship if they can. They will try to do it my just giving you a new keycard instead, but clearing the ship may be required by the port.
