LuAnn Posted October 15, 2022 #1 Share Posted October 15, 2022 In the past we were able to buy local flowers and bring them on board...is this still allowed? Thanks!!
Rare cruisestitch Posted October 15, 2022 #2 Share Posted October 15, 2022 I don’t know if there has been a change in policy since the restrictions. In prior years I brought flowers aboard in Seattle and several Spanish ports.
Arizona Wildcat Posted October 15, 2022 #3 Share Posted October 15, 2022 Most ports - fine. Suggest asking first as some ports have a quarantine on plant movement.
Rare cruisestitch Posted October 15, 2022 #4 Share Posted October 15, 2022 My understanding is that restrictions refer to bringing plant life into a port, not out of a pottery
Rare Ferry_Watcher Posted October 15, 2022 #5 Share Posted October 15, 2022 Carnival is the only cruise line at Pier 91 Seattle that bans flowers. No problem on Celebrity or Royal Caribbean ships.

There are restrictions to prevent insects and stuff. For example plants and many food items are not allowed into Canada. Almost nothing flower, fruit or plants into Australia. Some stuff is strange such as potatoes cannot generally be transported without treatment between some provinces in Canada. Same with firewood. Treasure Hunter Posted October 16, 2022 #7 Share Posted October 16, 2022 We brought beautiful flowers on a Princess ship in Tahiti. Many people did.

The issue would be if you tried to take the ashore in say Australia. We have brought flowers on board in Colombia. Am sure you enjoyed them.
