SantaFeFan Posted October 22, 2022 #1 Share Posted October 22, 2022 What happens to any leftover OBC from the shareholder benefit? Does it get refunded in some way? Or does it get used up first before OBC from other sources? On our next cruise we have $100 from Princess, $250 from shareholder benefit, and $500 from our travel agent. We're wondering what might happen if we don't use it all.

Always, they use your non refundable OBC first. Followed by the refundable OBC. You will see that on your folio.
smwg Posted October 22, 2022 #3 Share Posted October 22, 2022 All the OBC you mentioned sound like they are non-refundable (with the exception of MAYBE the one from your travel agent). Seems like you have plenty to use for excursions, specialty dining, shopping, photos, casino. You MAY be able to cash some out in the casino. I have no experience with that, but maybe someone else will pipe in with some insight on that. Have fun! 🙂
Arizona Wildcat Posted October 22, 2022 #4 Share Posted October 22, 2022 OBC from our TA has always been refundable until this year. Upcoming Panama Canal.cruise show everything as non refundable.

Your travel summary should show which is non and which is refundable. Your $250 and $100 is almost certainly non refundable. If any or all of the $500 OBC from the T.A is refundable then any unused portion of that will be refunded. If the TA OBC is nonrefundable then any credit balance (OBC) is lost when disembarking. If non refundable is the case purchase something on the ship or gamble in the casino by charging the gambling amounts to your on board accounts. You could win or walk away with something. JF - retired RRT Posted October 22, 2022 #6 Share Posted October 22, 2022 Casino works. Just don't walk in, start an account and walk out. You have to play a little (at least) before you cash out.
coo359a2 Posted October 22, 2022 #7 Share Posted October 22, 2022 Enjoy eating at the Crown Grill. After Princess tours, the Crown Grill is our go to for using OBC when we have booked Princess Plus. Will pay at the casino too.

Thank you for this information. I checked my summary and an * is next to the shareholder and TA OBC, meaning that both are non-refundable. Looks like my wife will enjoy hearing that she will be getting several free spa treatments!! 😁
Rare Ombud Posted October 22, 2022 #9 Share Posted October 22, 2022 (edited) When I booked shore excursions last December & last month, the 10% elite excursion rebate was refundable OBC. So that's another possibility Pay full bill for shore excursions from nonrefundable OBC, get 10% back as refundable OBC Edited October 22, 2022 by Ombud
