Many thanks Only QM2 has a concierge lounge, and it is a dark and dismal place with no outside light, but usually a lovely concierge, and free coffee and biscs. Coffee is free in the QG lounge, but nothing else, I believe.

majortom10 Posted November 27, 2022 #4 Share Posted November 27, 2022 In Queens Lounge on QV any hot drinks i.e. coffees, teas and hot chocolate were free so I should imagine it would be the same on QM2 if not I would find it very strange and disappointing. Many thanks The Concierge Lounge on the QM2 was very helpful to us several times. She assisted us several times with reservations and bookings. Its on Deck 9 BTW Evelator B & C. Yes it does not have windows but doesn't stop passengers from using it. It has coffee and tea service with breakfast Danish. Around noon they add sandwiches to the display. And at 3-4 Tea sandwiches and sweets including scones and clotted cream. Passengers sit in there reading and there is a router for wireless. Found it better than reading in the library where it's crowded and can interfere others. Grill Lounge we were once in for tea disappointing with the crowds and not enough space for all to sit. We preferred Concierge Lounge or Queens Room. They even ran out of items in the Grill Lounge before the end of time. Disappointed us. We really never used it for before or after drinks..
ExArkie Posted November 28, 2022 #6 Share Posted November 28, 2022 Just to note the names: the lounge on QM2 deck 7 just outside the Queens Grill restaurant is the “Grills Lounge,” which is (essentially) a bar for PG and QG passengers. The Concierge Lounge on deck 9 is primarily a place to interact with the Grills concierge, and has soft drinks, tea, coffee, various snacks, food as noted above, reading materials, etc. On QV and QE, the concierge is actually located within the Grills Lounge, so there is no separate concierge lounge. Ah got you… so Grills Lounge is a bar that we have to pay for our drinks? Is the drinks menu the same as other bars?

Jacqueline Posted November 28, 2022 #9 Share Posted November 28, 2022 Also a good place for WI-FI connective. I am here right now posting. they do always have snacks or bites as well as tea time with scones.
BigMac1953 Posted November 28, 2022 #10 Share Posted November 28, 2022 Smaller, more intimate concerts are also held in the Grill Lounge from time to time. They are not generally advertised, but flyers are put on the tables. Hot canapes are offered in the evening.

We found some of the sandwiches were close to the Champagne Tea and some of the Sweets were interesting and different. Don't know if the same as September. But we were always appreciative of Scones, Clot Cream and array of Jam.

Better tea (the drink) in the Grills lounge, and quicker service for the afternoon tea. Also used the Queens Room though for afternoon tea as that's rather nice for one of the seats by the windows - it's low down on Deck 3 so good to watch the sea go by... For either, best to be there at 3:25... Grills lounge is only so-so as a room.

I've always subscribed to the view that being the Flagship, Queen Mary 2 has the better of the 'Grills' facilities when it comes to named lounges. Like your good self, we have both experienced 'Grills' accommodation across the fleet and are well equipped to comment. The Queens Grill Lounge on Deck 7 is more spacious and elegant while still being convenient for the grills restaurants... ***** ...while the excellent Concierge Lounge is situated perfectly for the grills accommodation decks offering a full concierge service where it is most required.... *****
BigMac1953 Posted November 29, 2022 #15 Share Posted November 29, 2022 I see the QM2 Grill lounge is set up for a concert in your photo. Often they will place the chairs in rows if it's going to be busy.

I get a kick with the Queens Room Tea when they open the doors, it looks like the Kentucky Derby when the horses gates open up. Granted one locations is brewed tea, one you brew it in the cup and the other in the kitchen. Two served White Gloves and the other self service. As said, we were R&R and happy with quiet CL on Deck 9. We unfortunately didn't get a chance with the crowds to have a drink in GL before dinner.
