cynt Posted December 6, 2022 #52 Share Posted December 6, 2022 Bummer your boarding day wasn't good. We had no problems. Highly recommend parking at the port next time. We thought we would give it a try a couple of weekends ago. Hands down best parking experience ever. Check out pics and my review of the parking. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2895846-royal-caribbean-cruise-terminal-galveston/#comment-64407961

We have cruised out of Galveston ummm at least 8 times and I always remember it being about $10-12 a day for the other parking so I was kind of shocked at the price. That being said if the terminal parking was only $20-30 more and easier to deal with I think I would be ok paying the premium. Currently our next cruise is Carnival in about a year so not sure when I will get to experience this cool terminal
Rare niksmom630 Posted December 6, 2022 Author #54 Share Posted December 6, 2022 Day 3 shaping up nicely…. todays plan is the beach pool….. this photo taken at 8:45 am ish….. maybe this sailing is a sleepy bunch, but this is NOT what the pool looks like on a sea day when I’ve sailed out of Florida…..is chair hogging a Florida phenomenon? 🤔 Solarium bistro for “brunch” this morning…..really missing the peaceful Wipe Out cafe breakfast and unobstructed view of the boardwalk 😐 I took some photos of the offerings at Solarium this morning. Will post in a bit. It’s definitely stray better than the windjammer, especially if you arrive right when it opens

It is covered, secured indoor parking. My SIL said they’ve used them twice before and never encountered the shuttle issue we experienced this time.

Rare niksmom630 Posted December 6, 2022 Author #57 Share Posted December 6, 2022 In addition to the traditional breakfast selections at the solarium cafe: assume this will change on the port days when it’s considered “breakfast” 1

Once coming back on Navi in February, they held us out in the channel until 3:00 pm in the afternoon before we could come in and disembark, don't you know the folks were chomping at the bit that day? Then on February 2010 we were supposed to board Voyager and she was late because of fog. They offered us all $30 a piece for lunch in Galveston, I kid you not. We thought that was awfully nice, but we didn't board until 6 PM and the fog came back in so we left at 2:00 AM. I think I was on that sailing with you! February 21-28?
Rare niksmom630 Posted December 6, 2022 Author #59 Share Posted December 6, 2022 The made to order omelets /eggs/ oatmeal / grits area is not well labeled and literally above a burger condiments section at the end of the serving counter, which I walked right past on day 2. Niksmom tip….. walk to the end of the serving area, place your egg order, drop your number off at a table, and then get into the beginning of the hot food serving area to get any other items , and your eggs will likely be at your table by the time you are seated! 😉 “Special sauce” ???? Hmmmm…..I’d need full disclosure on the ingredients before I’d be willing to try this……🤢 2

Rare niksmom630 Posted December 6, 2022 Author #61 Share Posted December 6, 2022 The hunt for Christmas decor continues….found this little treat inside the window at Giovanni’s…. There are poinsettias EVERYWHERE. And they are real. looks like some of the specialty venues have trees, so I’ll be on the lookout for them later this evening as we have 150 CP booked for dinner. I walked around CP for a bit, and despite this being my 5th time on this ship, I always manage to find something, or some view I haven’t seen before

Rare niksmom630 Posted December 6, 2022 Author #63 Share Posted December 6, 2022 Remembered I hadn’t ever found all the little Wonders onboard. Was planning to do that on my last sailing but ran out of time. I think there are 20 or more of them. Someone kindly posted the locations in my last Allure review so I will have to dig that out. In the meantime, here are a few I stumbled upon today Keep an eye out for these and a corresponding circular sign… they are very cool 😎

Rare niksmom630 Posted December 6, 2022 Author #68 Share Posted December 6, 2022 (edited) Of course I worked up an appetite since it’s been 40 minutes since my Sorrentos pizza fix, so I headed to the fro yo machine on 15…. ugh, denied….. they were refilling…..it certainly looks a lot less appetizing in these bags 😐 so, Ben and Jerry’s came thru….
