Rare roseoftx Posted February 17, 2023 #52 Share Posted February 17, 2023 (edited) Taken during our cruise last week. It was still pleasant, but not quite the tropical garden some people expected. Edited February 17, 2023 by roseoftx

mek Posted February 17, 2023 #54 Share Posted February 17, 2023 We were there in October and it was beautiful - sad to see it look like that.
Rare BecciBoo Posted February 17, 2023 #55 Share Posted February 17, 2023 (edited) Yeah, my yard looks the same way........it's winter! Trees will probably bounce back. In TX and AR we replant every spring for plants, same as the ones that were in CP. As soon as the threat of freeze is over for the Coast, they'll be replanting and by our Sept. cruise things will just about be back to normal. They knew when they repositioned they'd have that problem in Texas, it's not Florida. And they may have to redesign with Texas native plants as well which are more freeze resistance. Artificial??? Central Park with live planting is what makes Oasis Class...you don't think they planned for any eventuality? Rare cruiselvr04 Posted February 17, 2023 #56 Share Posted February 17, 2023 Yes it was a bit sad looking out there last week. We still enjoyed the music at night and the pretty lighting in the Caribbean. I’m hoping it’s better by the end of March on her. There were some green buds here and there and we saw the gardener out there everyday. We had temps in the 50’s on debark day and our last sea day 30 mph winds. It was cold outside! DH mentioned it’s too bad one Oasis class ship didn’t get an enclosed solarium and Central Park but I’m sure it would have been cost prohibitive. We knew sailing from Galveston in the winter can be chilly or really nice and were prepared but the cold might have surprised some. The low in Dallas was 30 this a.m. but the high Monday will be 78. We get wide swings down here.
bmak246 Posted March 13, 2023 #57 Share Posted March 13, 2023 Any word as to when RCCL is going to refurb Central Park trees and plants. Hoping it will be done by my June sailing.
