Sand and Seas Posted January 29, 2023 #7 Share Posted January 29, 2023 After having two Joy cruises cancelled during the shutdown, we will finally be onboard in April. It looks like a lovely ship! Thanks for offering to share information with us. Please let us know if you eat at The Local and if the food is good. We usually enjoy this venue on most ships, but some ships are better than others. Have enjoyed the Reuben sandwich and some really good burgers. (Nice change from MDR or Specialty dining.) In Prima's Local, there were complimentary Hot Fudge Sundaes on the menu, but I haven't heard of that elsewhere. (Breakaway had a $5 charge.) Also, if you happen to spend anytime in the Casino, could you let us know the name or names of the Casino Hosts? (We usually know them from prior cruises.) And if you are a casino player, do they have a good selection of updated machines? Hope you have a wonderful cruise😎
victory2020 Posted January 29, 2023 #8 Share Posted January 29, 2023 Have you gone to the dining room for lunch? Want to know if they had the monte cristo sandwich on any of the menus
Rare BirdTravels Posted January 29, 2023 #9 Share Posted January 29, 2023 (edited) If you are in a Suite, let us know what the Suite perks are (or if you chat with a fellow passenger in a suite). E.g., Butler? Private breakfast and lunch dining in La Cucina? Edited January 29, 2023 by BirdTravels
Maplemoose Posted January 30, 2023 #10 Share Posted January 30, 2023 I am interested in what is happening to the entertainment also and it would be nice to get a hint from the crew if they know if there are Joyless cuts coming, such as Footloose.

The entertainment is really good on this ship. The Beatles are much better than the Beatles were on the Bliss. Footloose was excellent my only complaint is that the sound could be turned down a little bit. Loved Duo Delight. The comedians were just OK.
cruiser123! Posted January 30, 2023 #16 Share Posted January 30, 2023 can you post the dailies? I know the itinerary will change before we board (in 40), but it would be good to see what the CD does. How is the food in the MDRs? Are the lines controlled, or is it a cluster? Any chance you go to the art auction? How is the auctioneer? enjoy your sail!! There are always Solo meetings every night, usually around 5 or 5:30 pm. The first night is typically in a bar with subsequent meetings in the Solo Lounge but since the Joy does not have solo cabins, they will all be elsewhere. My guess from past experience is Sugarcane Mojito Bar. Attending the first night is usually best for meeting people right away...and even if traveling with others, it doesn't hurt to stop by. Time and location will be in the Freestyle daily. Edited January 30, 2023 by debenson0723 forgot something
