Trueblueky Posted August 27, 2023 #30 Share Posted August 27, 2023 It's a cold time to visit Alaska. In Seward, the Kenai Fjord National Park excursion on a small ship is my favorite. We saw dozens of orcas plus larger whales.

Self-Service Launderettes are featured on most ships with the exception of the following: Carnival Celebration, Carnival Jubilee and Mardi Gras do not have washers and dryers but have ironing rooms on several stateroom decks as well as Valet Laundry service. Carnival Firenze, Carnival Luminosa and Carnival Venezia do not have washers, dryers nor ironing rooms but do offer Valet Laundry service.
sfaaa Posted August 28, 2023 #33 Share Posted August 28, 2023 Just imagine how many extra pounds you are going to gain by the time you disembark in Seattle. Don't think I can do it.

NoyM Posted October 3, 2023 #35 Share Posted October 3, 2023 We are booked on the Carnival Luminosa for April 1st 2024 a 31 day cruise out of Brisbane, Issues I'm having is booking a flight through Fly2Fun. It doesn't work on their website and I call they tell me the website down or the dateline crossing not setup right in their system which doesn't make sense or try again in 24 to 72 hours. This has been going on for 2 months. Anyone out there with Fly2Fun? We will be coming out of Orlando to Brisbane. We just want the security they offer the Fly2Fun. I was on the Luminosa 30 day in September, Seattle to Brisbane. I didn't use it, but people were posting Fly2Fun didn't work then either...after booking their airfare they discovered Carnival had booked them flying home out of Australia on Oct. 14, when in reality we didn't dock in Brisbane until Oct. 15. I never did hear if it actually got fixed, although a lot of people had to go back and fix their flights. So I personally would look for backup flights if Carnival never gets their act together. Its mind-blowing to me they STILL can't get this right after how many TP cruises have they done?? smh When I flew home, I booked air from Brisbane to Sydney to LAX to Chicago. Just a tip, there were many more flights out of Sydney with better times and connections than flying out of Brisbane. So I would assume the same would hold true for flying into Brisbane, so you might want to check flights into Sydney too; then its only a 90 min flight to Brisbane. Qantas flies almost every hour. Eliot Ness Posted November 12, 2023 #39 Share Posted November 12, 2023 We're booked on this cruise, and we just did the 31 day from Seattle to Brisbane. We had to skip Alaska and the Philippines because of weather but they added a port or two in Japan and an extra night in Indonesia. Japan was wonderful, such a beautiful country with polite and courteous people. We're looking forward to going back there and hopefully making Alaska this time. Our PVP said there is an issue with the Fly2Fun on this cruise and he has reported it to the tech people. We did the Fly2Fun on the last transpacific and it was fine. I think the wife and I are going to research flights today. As far as no laundry, most of the pax are platinum or diamond and get free laundry. We loved the last cruise and are thrilled to be doing it again in reverse. We also did the 22 day south Pacific cruise last April so we've grown quite fond of the Luminosa. Here is the itinerary, see photo 🥰 We did the repositioning cruise in 2022 and it was awful. Too many passengers on board were given the free casino package, so the entertainment was substandard as Carnival knew that a huge percentage of passengers didn't need any. Every day was like Groundhog Day (and with so many sea days - that really matters). Before you book a cruise like this with so many sea days - consider what you will do if it is a really, really bad cruise. While I enjoy sitting on the balcony watching the sea go past just as much as the next person, you don't want to be doing that for the entire cruise.
