Doesn't matter who is sailing it. But the "second third" etc is not useful or helpful to one trying to select between 2 or more cruise lines with equally attractive itineraries. Then I guess you just go with the cheapest cruise that takes you where you want to go? No, because I do like a certain level of . . . .stuff. And I have an absolute rule that I'll never set foot on a ship with more than around 700 passengers. Seabourn Ovation was perfectly OK for a certain itinerary (Norway) but no bigger than that. By the way, I'm doing a back-to-back on the Aranui next year - hardly luxury, but pricing at Silversea levels.

Mostly we look for ships that are even smaller than the 700 pax mark. In the past we have cruised on ships that are bigger, on lower priced lines, and bought up to the suite category for the extra attention, but now those lines are mostly mega ships, and we have no interest in them, no matter the price. 4
Rare ak1004 Posted February 15, 2023 #28 Share Posted February 15, 2023 For us, Oceania Riviera/Marina with 1,200 passengers is still a good size. Never felt more crowded than Sliver Spirit.
