Markanddonna Posted February 19, 2023 #1 Share Posted February 19, 2023 A tour company in Spain is asking everyone for their passport numbers. Is this common practice? I know hotels usually ask for your passport.

K32682 Posted February 19, 2023 #3 Share Posted February 19, 2023 It's not unusual in my experience for tour operators to request passport information from foreign clients.
Rare Hlitner Posted February 19, 2023 #4 Share Posted February 19, 2023 It is common (and even required in some countries). No reason to get concerned about giving our your name and Passport number. Hank

It's a pain to add all the required info when booking for this tour, but well worth it. Darcy

BaumD Posted February 19, 2023 #7 Share Posted February 19, 2023 My agent asks for a copy of the photo page from your passport. Willing to bet one or 2% of the time people send a passport page showing that the passport is expired. Agents in tour operators want to catch this before the customer tries to get on an airplane. sanger727 Posted February 24, 2023 #8 Share Posted February 24, 2023 We went to Thailand and Vietnam recently, and yes, tour companies asked for our passport info ahead of time. They said it was required for paperwork they had to do as a tour company there.
