mydogislulu Posted February 23, 2023 #1 Share Posted February 23, 2023 Any reviews on the shores excursions to take on the Silver Moon Southampton to Lisbon? From Honfleur we wish to visit the WW11 Normandy excursions, but not which one to take - D-Day Normandy Exploration or Normandy Landings? Any advice? Would appreciate advice here please. My advice would be to ask this question on your roll call. Another good place would be the relevant ports of call forum.

We will be visiting Honfleur on our upcoming cruise on the Dawn in a couple of months. Like you, we also were curious about the differences in the two D-Day excursions offered. My husband did some research on the two museums and looked at the tour descriptions carefully. Both appear to be very similar with the exception of the museum visits and the restaurants. However, the "Normandy Landings" excursion visits the beaches of Sword, Juno and Gold as well as the Arromanches Invasion Museum, all of which focus on the efforts of British and Canadian allied forces in Normandy. The "D-Day Normandy Exploration" excursion visits Omaha beach and the Overlord Museum, which has more of a focus on the efforts of American allied forces. Hopefully someone on this forum who actually did one of these excursions can offer their feedback, although the D-Day Normandy Exploration excursion indicates its a new program, so perhaps the Normandy Landings excursion was the only one offered up until now.
